Secaucus, New JerseyJob Summary:The Planning Manager will be responsible for financial management of assigned area of responsibility, including but not limited, to the creation of financial and merchandise plans, actualization of results, identifying, communicating, and implementing strategic business opportunities at the division, category, and season code levels. This position will forecast sales, markdowns, and inventory levels on a regular basis and identify risks to the business and develop action plans in cooperation with their merchandising partner to mitigate risks profitably. This position will supervise a staff of Planner(s) and be responsible for all training and development of direct reports.Responsibilities:
Key Accountabilities:
Train and develop a staff of Planner(s)Create monthly financial plans at division, category, and season code levels for fiscal time periodsReforecast sales, markdown, and inventory for fiscal time periods at division, category, and season code levelsCreate recap of end of season performance at division, category, season, and style levels for merchandise buy periodEstablish financial targets at division, category, and season code levels for merchandise buy periodsCreate assortment plans at style and color levels for merchandise buy periodsPerform daily, monthly, quarterly, and seasonal sales reportingAnalyze historical and current trends to identify risks or opportunities and recommend strategies to increase sales and achieve business and financial objectivesCreate Monday reports and recaps used to analyze business and direct actions for current weekComplete ad hoc recaps and financial analyses as neededEducation and Experience:
Bachelor’s degree required5+ years of experience in retail planning and analysisExperience in managementSkills and Behaviors:
Proven track record of financially astute business managementExpertise in retail math with strong analytical skillsStrong problem solving and decision making skillsAbility to identify and clearly communicate business opportunities and risksGood organization and workload prioritization skillsProficient in planning systems and Microsoft OfficeStrong team player
