Manager, New Verticals - Grocery Consumer Strategy & Operations
About the Team The New Verticals team is building the future of local commerce through expanding our product offerings on our marketplace platform. We launched in 2020 and have since then built world-class operations to delight our customers with access to Grocery, Convenience, Alcohol, and Retail delivery through our marketplace. This team shapes the future of DoorDash Grocery. Join us in our global mission to empower and grow local economies! About the Role As we continue to scale our Grocery business, a key strategic growth pillar for DoorDash, we’re looking to hire a Manager to drive the next wave of growth! You will incubate and launch net-new bets for driving consumer growth, define key go-to-market strategies, and dive into data to identify trends that will shape our product roadmaps, all while working with a wide array of cross-functional teams. Ultimately, you’ll be tasked with growing our Grocery business and the number of consumers that use our platform for their weekly grocery needs. You will report into the Director of Consumer Growth on our Grocery team in our New Verticals organization. We operate in a hybrid model and spend a few days a month in person together! This role is required to be based in New York, Washington DC or San Francisco. You’re excited about this opportunity because you will… + Innovate: Our Grocery business is still in its early innings. You will form POVs on the most important opportunities for growing consumer engagement, validate those opportunities with experiments, and then collaborate with partners to build the next set of foundational bets for supercharging growth. + Influence: You will be collaborating with a dynamic high-performing team. You will understand what’s most important to our Grocery consumers and work with a broad coalition of partners across product, operations, analytics, design, finance, and engineering to ensure that we’re prioritizing the right bets and building a best-in-class consumer experience. + Analyze + Learn: You love working with data and using data to drive business decision-making. You will conduct a/b tests and operational experiments and use those insights to inform our strategy moving forward. You also love talking to consumers and doing qualitative research to uncover new opportunities to improve the consumer experience. We’re excited about you because… + You are an owner. You move fast and you do whatever it takes to achieve the team’s goals. + You solve problems from first principles. You’re excited to think innovatively, and you resist “this is how it’s always been done” thinking. + You’re equally comfortable operating at 10,000 feet and 1 foot. You don’t hesitate to get in the weeds and operate at the lowest level of detail, but you’re just as comfortable thinking long-term and inspiring a team. + You’re analytical. You’re comfortable building complex SQL queries across multiple data sources and have experience with data visualization and dashboarding tools. + You have 6-8+ years of experience. You’ve succeeded in fast-paced cultures (tech, operations, strategy, consulting, banking, or a related experience), and you’ve led teams to achieve audacious goals. + You are a leader. You have 1+ years of experience managing high-performing teams. + You have a completed Bachelor’s Degree.
