Manager, Nursing Education
Job Summary

Responsible for developing and initiating improvements in the organization and delivery of high quality, cost effective patient care. Duties and responsibilities will include supporting the vision, mission, and goals of the Nursing Department and the organization. Responsible for nursing clinical practice, nursing education, budgetary personnel activities, and regulatory activities associated with the work unit and the clinical department, and the implementation and continuing support of Electronic Medical Record.

Job Duties Effectively communicates the Nursing and the organization's vision, goals, and initiatives at the unit and department level.Effectively incorporates goals, vision and initiatives into unit and department plans.Participates effectively as a member of departmental, divisional, and regional leadership teams.Supports all phases of the Magnet application process.Fosters professional development for self and staff.Facilitates continuing education and research opportunities for employees.Utilizes leadership concepts to effectively facilitate team building by serving as a mentor, and teacher.Contributes to the development of employee orientation, continuing education, and competencies.Participates in recruitment and retention process for all team members.Coordinates performance evaluation process for all team members.Accountable for staffing, vacation scheduling, and cross-training activities with other team leaders as needed or required.Collaborates with Human Resource Generalist regarding employee performance improvement planning.Develops and participates in the design and implementation of all strategic operational plans.Anticipates, evaluates, and appropriately responds to changes in the healthcare environment.Demonstrates accountability for continuously improving the work unit, department, division and system by developing performance expectations and goals that focus on service, quality and cost.Develops and promotes service standards that foster a customer sensitive environment, using a proactive approach.Assists in dealing with risk management issues.
