Manager, Office of the COO

We are looking for a strategic operator and program manager to drive critical initiatives within the COO organization. This role combines strategic decision making, problem solving, and program execution to support high-impact projects and drive operational excellence across teams.

The ideal candidate has a strong strategic mindset, ability to structure and problem solve through ambiguity, and the skills to drive cross-functional initiatives from ideation to execution. They will partner closely with the Chief of Staff to the COO to analyze business challenges, implement key strategic initiatives, and drive the operational cadence of the COO organization. This role requires the ability to navigate complex topics, manage competing projects, and collaborate with senior leaders to drive business outcomes.

What You'll Do

Partner with the Chief of Staff to the COO to drive high-priority initiatives that improve operational efficiency, decision-making, and business performance

Lead the planning and execution of cross-functional initiatives to drive alignment, accountability and high-quality execution 

Drive and continuously improve the operational cadence of the COO organization, to ensure alignment and effective decision making

Develop a deep understanding of Affirm’s business, organization, and strategic priorities to ensure initiatives are designed and executed in ways that maximize business impact

Collaborate with key stakeholders to align priorities, manage dependencies, and resolve blockers


What We Look For

5 - 10 years of experience in a combination of business operations, strategy, program management, or a Chief of Staff-type role; experience in fintech or related fields strongly preferred

Proven track record of successfully leading and delivering complex, cross-functional projects

Strong business acumen and strategic thinking, with the ability to drive actionable solutions while maintaining a focus on long-term business impact

Exceptional organizational skills, with the ability to maintain clarity on priorities, dependencies and execution details

Proven ability to problem-solve independently and make informed decisions to maintain progress and drive execution

Experience working with senior leaders and executive teams, with the ability to influence and collaborate at all levels of the organization

Excellent stakeholder management skills, with experience in aligning multiple teams toward shared objectives

Strong ability to balance structured execution with flexibility, adapting to shifting priorities in a fast-moving environment

Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to distill complex information into clear, actionable insights

This position requires either a Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent practical experience


Pay Grade - L
Equity Grade - 6

Employees new to Affirm typically come in at the start of the pay range. Affirm focuses on providing a simple and transparent pay structure which is based on a variety of factors, including location, experience and job-related skills.

Base pay is part of a total compensation package that may include equity rewards, monthly stipends for health, wellness and tech spending, and benefits (including 100% subsidized medical coverage, dental and vision for you and your dependents.)

USA base pay range (CA, WA, NY, NJ, CT) per year: $160,000 - $210,000
USA base pay range (all other U.S. states) per year: $142,000 - $192,000
