Operations Manager

Job Summary
The Operations Manager contributes to Mattress Firm's success by overseeing the efficient day-to-day operations of multiple functions within their assigned distribution center, managing and developing members of the distribution center team, and contributing to meeting organizational financial objectives. This individual ensures the team follows standardized operational
processes in accordance with safety policies and procedures, and the DC provides World Class Service to internal and external customers.

Essential Responsibilities

Oversees efficient day-to-day operations of the DC.

Contributes to meeting overall financial objectives of the distribution center (DC) compared to budget.

Creates and fosters an environment of trust, open two-way communication, and cohesive team effort.

Ensures alignment with strategic vision and communicates organizational mission and values to the team.

Educates team members and contract employees on customer satisfaction measures and holds them accountable to results.

Communicates with team members through regular and frequent meetings.

Holds one-on-one meetings with direct reports at least twice a month.

May represents the DC at regional operations and cross functional meetings.

Ensures the DC meets company standards on appearance, cleanliness, and functionality.

Ensures adherence to operational processes, policies and procedures.

Collaborates with sales partners to ensure delivery of exceptional customer service.

Facilitates resolution of customer service issues.

Assists in managing the DC schedule.

Conducts required physical cycle counts; reviews discrepancies and makes appropriate corrections.

Provides safety and other training and periodic retraining to all team members and contract employees in the DC.

Monitors employee time records and reviews/approves paid time off and leave of absence requests in accordance to policyand procedures.

Recruits, interviews and participates in hiring process for potential DC team members.

Verifies driver payroll for accuracy.

Complete all required training modules and certifications prior to the due date

Ensure all safety policies and procedures are followed to ensure a safe work environment for all

Communicate professionally with all internal and external contacts

Follow all Company policies and execute Company standards on appearance and functionality as well as appropriate brand representation

Communicates any concerns or issues to leadership to ensure proper efficiency of department and company operations

Execute team member performance improvement plans, progressively discipline and terminations when appropriate per Company policy
