Manager, Operations - Resource Center, Instructional Design
Position Summary...As Sr. Manager of Learning & Instructional Design, you’ll lead the end-to-end creation of learning journeys designed specifically for gig-drivers — creating a self-serve education framework that supports drivers through their most critical early milestones: onboarding, first 10 trips, 50 trips, and 100 trips. Your goal will be to reduce platform confusion, prevent early churn, and ultimately increase the number of drivers who achieve long-term success on Spark.

You’ll partner closely with Product, Support, Comms, and Operations to identify pain points, map the most common barriers to success, and design scalable learning modules that live within our resource center. These may include interactive walkthroughs, decision-tree tutorials, mini-courses, and job aids. You’ll ensure each asset is accessible, mobile-friendly, and optimized for conversion and comprehension — whether a driver is completing their first batch or troubleshooting an issue at trip 72.

What you'll do...

This role helps more gig-drivers succeed — designing learning content that turns first-time earners into confident, long-term contributors to our platform.

What You’ll Do:

Build a structured, modular learning ecosystem for Spark gig-drivers, aligned to experience-based milestones and behavioral insights.Conduct regular gap analyses using support data, contact rate trends, and user feedback to identify high-friction driver pain points.Design and publish instructional content that reduces reliance on live support, improves feature adoption, and accelerates driver confidence.Create scalable learning formats including microlearning, mobile-first modules, job aids, onboarding tracks, and scenario-based training.Partner with UX, Engineering, and Data teams to ensure learning is embedded seamlessly across self-help and in-app channels.Lead A/B testing and performance measurement to iterate on content effectiveness and continually optimize driver success outcomes.Champion user-first instructional language, accessibility, and culturally inclusive education practices.

What You’ll Bring:

7+ years in instructional design, learning experience design, or a similar learning-focused role.Proven ability to build learning content for non-traditional learners and contractor or gig audiences.Mastery of instructional design models (ADDIE, SAM, etc.) and hands-on experience with eLearning tools like Articulate, Adobe Captivate, Rise, or similar.Data-driven mindset with experience using analytics to evaluate content performance and learner impact.Exceptional writing and storytelling skills for digital learning experiences.Experience operating in fast-paced, cross-functional environments where scale, accessibility, and speed-to-market matter.
