ABOUT THE FLOCK
bluebird bio’s market access, advocacy + policy team is focused on helping patients access our therapies to deliver on our mission to bring patients and their families more bluebird days. This committed, focused, and fun flock is looking for our newest team member to help enable authentic, collaborative engagement with the patient communities that we serve and to support operations across our patient advocacy platform. HOW YOU’LL FLY
You'll help to bring more patients their bluebird days by:
Partnering with cross-functional partners, including Patient Education and Community Liaisons, Corporate Communications, Patient Services, Medical Affairs and Commercial Teams to ensure creative, timely and coordinated approaches to sponsorship, support and engagement with community-based organizations. This includes maintaining an up-to-date database of patient advocacy and community-based organization contacts and creating a master calendar and tracking mechanism for upcoming events and requests from patient advocacy organizations. Identifying and implementing novel ways to reach and engage with the sickle cell patient advocacy community. This includes coordinating advisory boards, speaking engagements and other sponsorship benefits; developing content, including talking points, slides or multi-media, with cross-functional stakeholders; and managing content reviews with Medical, Legal and Regulatory through Veeva. Managing relevant submissions to the grants and sponsorships management system (portal), including interfacing with internal cross-functional partners and external organizations to ensure complete submissions and compliant review processes. Ensuring agreements are executed and fulfilled in a timely manner; help coordinate and support activities across the Patient Advocacy team Working with the Senior Director, Patient Advocacy, to facilitate programmatic and educational opportunities that drive community impact and enable authentic relationships with SCD community leaders. Together, serve as a connection hub between patient advocacy organizations and cross functional partners across bluebird bio. Supporting patient involvement in internal and external events, including processing agreements and logistics. Serving as a coordinator across market access, advocacy + policy team, including ensuring timely execution of agreements, event coordination, and tracking insights and actions on priority issues.
WHAT YOU'LL BRING
You’re the bird we’re looking for if you have:
Have a bachelor’s degree and a minimum of five years’ experience in patient advocacy and/or patient engagement, preferably within the biotech, pharmaceutical or healthcare industry. Highly skilled at building relationships – from internal stakeholders to external community leaders. Strong verbal, written and interpersonal skills. High comfort level with Microsoft Office, including PowerPoint and Excel. Experience with Veeva or similar content management/customer relationship management system. Experience with grants management and contracting systems. Excellent organizational skills, detail orientation, time management and good problem-solving ability. Ability to work effectively in a collaborative team environment where results are achieved through influence, cooperation, and the incorporation of multiple points of view. Ability to embrace change and multi-task in an extremely fast-paced environment. Outcomes oriented with a learning mindset – constantly adjusting and accounting for the external environment; personal commitment to high performance and continuous improvement. Role could include travel up to 30% of the time.
Compensation & Benefits
We offer a total compensation and rewards package that ranks among the best in our industry. Base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The anticipated annualized salary range for this role is $135,000.00 - $165,000.00. Your base pay will be determined based on several factors including market data, demonstrated skills, relevant education or training, experience, qualifications, internal equity, and travel requirements. Our overall package also includes eligibility for stock, incentive bonuses, and benefit programs, a flexible time off program, as well as paid holidays, bluebird days, and a holiday shutdown in December.
