Manager, People Operations & Workplace

At Algolia, we are passionate about helping developers & product teams connect their users with what matters most in milliseconds! Our People Team is looking for a NYC-based Manager, People Operations & Workplace who will be responsible for managing employee’s day-to-day questions, constantly improving process and documentation, and being a part of taking our People Support Help Desk to the next level. 

The ideal candidate should have experience collaborating with global, distributed teams, and be comfortable driving People Operations and Workplace best practices, processes and programs. 

As the Manager, People Operations and Workplace, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring that our operations and workplace efforts run smoothly across various regions globally. You will be a global collaborator, supporting our teams across different time zones, particularly in AMER and EMEA. You will also take on a "Player/Coach" role, leading a small team while remaining hands-on with day-to-day tasks.

YOUR ROLE WILL CONSIST OF:

People Operations Oversight: Oversee operations management, including handling tickets, tracking and reporting SLAs, documenting and building processes, fulfilling data requests, and managing local statutory plans including leave of absence (LOA) and benefit requests. Workplace Oversight: Oversee US office management and global Workplace programs including, Mobility Pass, Charity Matching, Global Giving Day, Community Leaders, and more! Global Collaboration: Act as a key support for the EMEA team, as needed, ensuring seamless operations across regions without creating silos. Player/Coach: Lead a team of two individual contributors while remaining hands-on with operational tasks. Be ready to step in when needed. Process Building: Develop and implement processes, policies, SLAs, and documentation. Identify business needs and build solutions from the ground up.

YOU MIGHT BE A FIT IF YOU HAVE:

4-6 years of prior People Operations experience, People Operations, including experience with leave of absence (LOA) management, local visas, FLSA, and benefits administration. Knowledge of US employment law Exposure to HR compliance  Demonstrates the capability to independently handle regular business activities with a proactive and action-oriented approach Proficiency in Excel/Google Sheets High attention to detail and a process-oriented mindset Global mindset with an understanding of and respect for global operations, and a willingness to learn and adapt to different regional needs
