MAJOR FUNCTION:
The Pharmacy Operations Manager is responsible for overseeing pharmacy department activities as designated by the Director of Pharmacy. The Pharmacy Operations Manager directs the operational activities of the Pharmacy, including scheduling, management of all staff, operational changes and workflows, physical plant, day-to-to troubleshooting, policy review, liaison between IT/revenue cycle/outside vendor, and cleanroom operations. The Pharmacy Operations Manager serves as the USP <797> designated person and is responsible for all activities and education required. The pharmacy operations manager serves as the Pharmacist in Charge and all obligations and responsibilities as defined by the NJ Board of Pharmacy. Responsible for billing audits, 340B accumulator and network wide CDM maintenance. Participates in P&T, Pharmacy Collaborative, Medication PI Committee, and Hazardous Materials Subcommittee. Responsible for EMS procurement of medications and controlled substances audit trail. Oversees informatics technician. Oversees and maintains department specific pharmacy software systems (Verity 340B, Pharmacy Keeper). Covers Elmer management needs as backup to Elmer PIC.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Education & Experience:
Graduate of a College or School of Pharmacy accredited by the American Council on Pharmaceutical Education with a minimum of a Doctor of Pharmacy Degree (PharmD). Completion of an advanced degree or previous supervising experience preferred. Minimum five years Hospital Pharmacy experience. Revenue cycle and USP<797> and <800> experience preferred.Certification/ Licensure:
BCPC Certificate preferred. Pharmacist license in NJ required.
