We are looking for an experienced UX Manager to lead and inspire our team of UX Designers and UX Researchers in the Product Organization at CoStar Group. Your role will be critical in driving continuous improvement by utilizing consumer research. You will take ownership of all UX projects, from usability testing to wireframing and prototyping, ensuring customer (internal & external) needs are met effectively. Your expertise in implementing innovative research methods and iterative prototyping will be instrumental in creating user-centered designs.

Collaborating closely with our Product & Engineering teams, you will seamlessly implement designs and contribute to our evolving Design System, driving flexible solutions and advancing our design practices. Elevating the team's research, interaction design, and visual design capabilities will be a key responsibility, fostering a culture of excellence.

This position is located in Richmond, VA and offers a 4 days onsite, 1 days remote hybrid schedule.

Responsibilities

Lead a team of UX Designers and UX Researchers.Utilize consumer research to drive continuous improvement.Oversee all UX projects, including usability testing, wireframing, and prototyping stages.Design and implement innovative research methods and iterative prototyping.Conduct customer testing to ensure designs are useful, usable, and desirable.Collaborate with Engineering to implement designs effectively.Contribute to the development of our emerging Design System, driving flexible solutions and improving design practices.Elevate the team's capabilities in research, interaction design, and visual design.Stay updated with the latest trends in user experience principles, recommending changes to align with best practices in the industry.

Basic Qualifications

Bachelor's degree10+ years of experience in product design, human-computer interaction, usability, user interface design, or visual design.Strong abilities in sketching, prototyping, and evaluating interaction design.Proficiency in design and prototyping tools, such as Figma.Knowledge of best practices for interaction design across cross-platform devices and applications.Strong problem-solving and critical thinking skills.

Preferred Qualifications and Skills

3-5 years of experience leading UX design or UX research teams.Experience developing a Design System.Advanced degree in Human-Computer Interaction, Cognitive Science, Statistics, Psychology, Anthropology, a related field, or equivalent practical experience.Knowledge of statistics and principles of experiment design.Understanding of different research methods and when to apply them during each product phase.Enjoyment of working with data, information, and presentation concepts, collaborating with other data-driven individuals.
