Position Summary Uday Shankar, Senior Director of Product Design and Research at Perforce, is seeking a Manager of Product Design. The ideal candidate will bring a strategic perspective to the design process, ensuring alignment with our business goals and delivering superior user experiences. As Manager, Product Design you will mentor and develop your team, manage staffing and project assignments, and drive the evolution of our UX research practice. This role requires someone who can uplift the design capabilities of their team while managing cross-functional stakeholder relationships globally.Responsibilities:Mentor team members to help them achieve their career goals and foster a collaborative, learning-focused team environment. Actively work to up-level the team’s design skills and overall craftPartner with each team member to create individualized career development plans, identify professional development opportunities, and provide ongoing guidance to those endsOversee the design direction for our digital creation vertical, ensuring design solutions meet both user needs and business objectives. Work with product managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to align design with product initiativesImprove design and user research effectiveness at Perforce by removing friction in processes, organizational collaboration, and interpersonal interactionsProvide design expertise and hands-on support to supplement team efforts and meet project demandsManage goals, milestones, and progress for key UX Team initiativesRequirements:Minimum of 10 years in UX or product design, plus at least 2 years managing a design teamEmotional intelligence to empathize with team members, situational awareness to understand the surrounding context, and managerial maturity to coach individuals through their day-to-day challengesAgility to manage local teams, remote individuals, and teams in other geographies and time zonesStrong ability to prioritize competing work, say “no” when needed, and continuously clarify top priorities for each team memberStrong digital product design background with a portfolio demonstrating the ability to enhance user experience for complex projectsA solid understanding of UI design principles, including a familiarity with design systemsA solid understanding of UX research methods, including user interviews, surveys, and usability testingExceptional communication skills, with the ability to articulate design decisions and advocate for the user experience at all levels of the organizationStrong skills in collaboration and building cross-functional relationships with stakeholders across siloesAdvocacy for your team and their work with others, executives, managers, and peersDesire and doggedness to see priority projects and tasks through to completionCome work with us!
