The Product Development Manager for Amerock will lead new product initiatives across multiple product categories including cabinet hardware, functional hardware, bath accessories, decorative hooks, future logical adjacencies and merchandising. The Product Manager will be responsible for gaining and maintaining deep industry knowledge including channel needs and strategy, comprehensive competitive product research and analysis, pricing analysis and product lifecycle analysis and execution. The Product Manager will collaborate across all channels to ensure channel alignment on new product initiatives and project manage commercialization activities driving an efficient launch cycle.
This is a Hybrid role based out of Huntersville, NC (Charlotte), in accordance with the Amerock Flex schedule; 3 days office / 2 days remote.
Primary Job Responsibilities:Manage multiple new product development projects adhering to Stage Gate processCollaborate with Director of Product to implement a product development strategy and multi-year roadmap that aligns with the company's business goals and market trends.Define timelines and ensure successful execution of product development projects across multiple channels including retail/co-op (hardware stores), trade (distribution), showroom and digitalWork closely with other departments, including sourcing, marketing, sales, and customer support, to ensure product launch successLead competitive product and pricing analysis efforts and serve as subject matter expert on both Amerock and competitive product portfoliosOwn the project management of all stages of project from start to finish. Collaborate with channel and marketing leads to identify commercialization activities necessary for effective launchProactively communicate project status, timelines and roadblocks effectively with partners and build strong relationships across the organizationTracks and communicates financial results of new product initiatives to key internal and external partners on a regular cadenceMonitor and control project budgets to ensure cost-effectivenessIdentify potential risks in the product development process and implement strategies to mitigate themExperience in merchandising, including working alongside team members to develop a strategy, execution, planogram experience as well as vendor managementStay abreast of industry trends and incorporate innovative solutions into product development. Perform comprehensive market opportunity research for potential new category entryOwn the product lifecycle/discontinuation process in alignment with product strategy and in collaboration with channel leads to ensure appropriate revenue continuityAnalyze data to identify patterns, trends, and areas for improvementContinually evaluate product development process, identify areas for improvement and effectively implement process improvementsOther duties as assignedPreferred Qualifications:Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a relevant field (e.g., Business, Engineering, Product Management)Proven experience (3-5 years) in product development roles, with a successful track record of bringing products to marketStrong critical thinking and decision-making skillsStrong experience with Stage Gate and Product Lifecycle ManagementExperience working across multiple sales channels with emphasis on trade, showroom and digital channels strongly preferredExperience with products positioned from opening price point through premium/luxury price pointsExceptional communication and interpersonal skillsKnowledge of industry trends and emerging technologiesExcellent Microsoft Excel skillsExperience with project management platforms (i.e. Monday.com, Microsoft Project, Asana, etc.)Experience with budget management and resource allocationAt Amerock, we care for each other. Estimated Ranges displayed are Monthly for Salaried roles OR Hourly for all other roles.
