Job Summary

The purpose of this position is to supervise hourly union personnel and professional staff to maximize plant safety, environmental, cost, and quality programs in the manufacturing of products. This position is the lead manager responsible for site operations during the production shift. The site is a 24/7 operation and the position works a rotating 12-hour shift on days and nights.

The IFF Jacksonville, FL facility is part of the IFF Scent Business as a Fragrance Ingredients supplier to internal and external customers.

In this role, you will have the opportunity to lead hourly union personnel and professional staff to maximize plant safety, environmental, efficiency, and quality programs in the manufacturing of products. This position is the lead manager responsible for site operations during the production shift. The site is a 24/7 operation, and the position works a rotating 12-hour shift on days and nights.

Key Responsibilities:

Manage plant employees and make excellent resource decisions (such as OT, employee scheduling, etc.) as needed to achieve Production, Quality, and EHS goals in accordance with site and company policies and procedures.Be the key liaison between staff (planners and engineers) and shift (team leaders and operators).Manage comprehensive performance management and feedback process to develop and continuously improve the skills of direct personnel.Communicate directly with employees the performance expectations.Provide motivational and constructive feedback for employees to achieve continuous improvement in performance.Hire and train personnel to perform the functions required for safe, efficient, and high-quality performance in the manufacturing of goods sold.Investigate events of product non-conformance, safety, environmental incidents, etc.Prepare reports showing root cause analysis and make recommendations for corrective actions to the management team.Other administrative responsibilities include the monitoring of time and attendance for direct report staff.Perform fact-finding sessions for grievances filed by union personnel.

Job Requirement:

4-year Undergraduate degree with a min of 4 years working experience in a manufacturing setting preferably in a chemical manufacturing company.Minimum of 5 years experience in a leadership or supervisory role.Effective use of leadership skills to supervise others effectively through measuring performance and providing effective feedback via verbal and written formats.Working knowledge of chemical processes and/or chemical manufacturingWorking experience (minimum of 2 years) with computer software programs: word processors, spreadsheets, e-mail, internet usage, etc.

Preferred:

Working knowledge of SAP.Working knowledge Chemical Manufacturing software such as CDAS or Honeywell products.Supervision or Working relationships in a union environment.
