Join Aecon as a Telecom Project Manager, reporting to the Senior Manager of Telecommunications Design. In this pivotal role, you'll oversee the operational and financial success of key projects and programs. We're seeking a highly motivated individual with exceptional leadership, organizational, analytical, and conflict resolution skills. If you have experience working at an ISP and are eager to drive impactful projects, we want you on our team!
What You'll Do Here:
Lead and manage all aspects of telecom projects from initiation to completion.
Ensure project success by adhering to scope, budget, and timeline standards.
Coordinate with internal teams, contractors, and stakeholders to meet project requirements and build strong relationships.
Monitor project progress and performance, addressing any issues or risks.
Facilitate effective communication and collaboration among project team members, clients, and stakeholders.
Provide direction and leadership to project teams, including vendors, subcontractors, drafters, designers, and engineers.
Ensure financial performance aligns with business plan targets.
Report financial performance, workload status, potential legal issues, and opportunities to the Senior Manager.
Prepare staff development and succession plans for key positions in the department.
Ensure all activities in designated regions align with corporate and divisional strategic plans, business plans, policies, and procedures.
Perform other duties and responsibilities as required.
What You Bring to the Team:
Bachelor's degree in engineering, diploma of technology in a related field, or equivalent work experience.
5+ years of experience in engineering, construction, and project management, preferably in the telecommunications industry.
Expertise in U.S. engineering standards, regulatory compliance, and cross-functional team leadership is a strong asset.
In-depth understanding of the telecommunications industry, including key players, standards, permitting, easements, and best practices.
Experience working directly with major ISPs such as Rogers, Bell, TELUS, etc.
Proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, ensure deadlines are met, developing effective contingency plans.
Strong skills in preparing and communicating project financial forecasting and cost management.
Experience managing and leading design teams, including overseeing project schedules, timelines, and resource allocation.
A track record of successfully completing projects and participating in business growth is considered a strong asset.
Demonstrate ability to identify and capitalize on new business opportunities.
