Manager, Project Management

Flowserve's Industrial Pump business unit is looking for a functional leader of project management. This position reports to the global director of operations and is responsible for establishing global standards on project management in line with our project management office. By working closely with the site leaders (domestic and abroad) and project managers along with cross functional teams, this role will support the execution of project orders; to plan, execute, and deliver projects within contracted schedule, budget, and quality.   

Responsibilities:

Setting goals and expectations for project teams and aligning goals with platform and enterprise strategy.Works with the PMO to implement organizational efficiencies, best practices improvements, and reporting for selected projects.Manages intersection of initiatives from Platform Leadership, PMO, and global functional leaders.Ensure projects and initiatives are proceeding according to timelines, meeting targets, and expectations, and are adhering to established operating systems.Drive a projects operations reporting cadence at the regional and plant level. (e.g. Project Reviews)Take steps to monitor, manage, and improve customer experience across the platform.Engage on customer escalations to understand the root cause and install mitigation and contingency actions to deescalate issues and sets expectations as necessary.Engage with sales and commercial operations organization to understanding upcoming project opportunities globally and regionallyImprove front-end planning, clean order handover, and focus on de-risking and quick launch of projects.Manage resource capacity and utilization to ensure alignment with backlog and forecast of projects.Collaborate with peers to align and develop plans for projects with global scope.Assessing and managing project leadership talent within the organization and succession planning for key roles.Developing and deploying processes and tools to effectively manage project schedules, cost control, margin, risk, and escalations.

Requirements:

Minimum 10+ years’ working experience in engineer to manufacture environment.   Flexible and mobile (travelling ~ 50%)Demonstrates high proficiency in project systems and organizational operations. e.g., materials planning, quality, supply chain, engineering, and manufacturing operations.Experience working directly with customers on a global nature to deliver projects and to solve problemDemonstrates high proficiency in their understanding of project management best practices and governance.Experience directly leading large teams and working within a matrixed organizationCertified Project Management Professional (PMP)Strong financial acumen and track record of accountable execution and drive for resultsPrior people leader experienceGoal Setting and Vision – ability to develop and articulate a operational management strategy and obtaining support from direct employees and influence the organization.Diplomacy - Demonstrates influencing and collaboration skillsCommunication skills; able to communicate with diverse groups and individuals at all levels across different locations and functionPlanning - develops effective plans to support long-term business objectivesCoordination - applies a disciplined process for planning, organizing, and controlling work initiativesData Processing – ability to process large amounts of data and distil into actionable direction
