Overview GENERAL DESCRIPTION The Public Health Laboratory Manager is responsible for the overall operations and administration of the Cherokee Nation Public Health Laboratory. Provides regulatory oversight for all tribal, federal, and state regulations, as required, builds capacity for wastewater epidemiological surveillance. Qualifications QUALIFICATIONS Bachelor’s degree majoring in Microbiology, Biochemistry, Public Health or Chemistry sciences; Master’s degree preferred. At least four (4) years of experience in a related field. Experience collaborating with multidisciplinary teams is preferred. Experience in a public health laboratory is preferred. Experience managing and training laboratory staff is preferred. The employee is frequently required to stand and walk. The employee is occasionally required to reach with hands and arms; climb or balance and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must occasionally lift and /or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus. CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS Must possess a valid driver’s license with a driving history verified through a motor vehicle report that meets the requirements for Cherokee Nation underwriting rating OTHER REQUIREMENTS The employee must not be and will not be under sanction by the United States Department of Health and Human Services Office of the Inspector General (OIG) or by the General Services Administration (GSA) or listed on the OIG's Cumulative Sanction Report, or the GSA's List of Excluded Providers, or listed on the OIG's List of Excluded Individuals/Entities (LEIE).
