Support the continuous maintenance of the Quality Management System to meet requirements of Ingredion’s Quality Management System as well as ISO 9001:2015 certification.  Ensure quality assurance systems are maintained and managed, as well as quality control systems. Laboratory is maintained and managed to provide quality control data to meet customer needs, operational needs and regulatory compliance.  Use technical expertise, knowledge of the corn wet milling business, and an understanding of company goals to work with Operations, Engineering and customers to assure product quality.  Knowledgeable of Continuous Improvement process and provide support at all levels of the facility as a Lean Champion.

As Quality Manager, your responsibilities will include:

Ensure  accurate and timely quality control data and services to internal and external customers.  Accountable for ensuring the quality of data generated in the laboratory.

Provide support to audits for compliance to quality systems as per customer, quality, and regulatory systems. Knowledgeable in Quality Management Programs (ISO 9001:2015), GMP, FSMA standards for animal feed, PCQI, Kosher certification, and product safety.

Provide support and help assist in Lean activities at the site:  GEMBA, tier board communication, 5S, RCA, Kiazan events

Maintain expertise in the analysis of products and in the processing parameters affecting product quality, generate daily and monthly reports. 

Accountable for management of the quality control laboratory to optimize the value of testing performed.

Ensure a safe lab environment and appropriate chemical hygiene and safety training of laboratory personnel.

Ensure maintenance of existing quality systems per ISO 9001:20015 standard to meet company, customer, and regulatory requirements. 

Work with operations, engineering and maintenance to resolve quality issues and assure compliance with regulations, company standards, and customer requirements.

Work with operation units to evaluate testing and sampling programs for effectiveness and efficiency.

Serve as an expert on analytical testing parameters and provide technical assistance to both internal and external customers.

Initiate new quality systems to support developing business needs.

Evaluate and introduce new equipment and methodologies to keep laboratory performance up to date.

Holds accountability, ensuring the appropriate training of laboratory personnel.  Maintain appropriate training and proficiency testing records and working climate needed to attain objectives.

Manage workforce to staff the laboratory as dictated by business needs.  Schedule workers to ensure coverage.  Work with other laboratory managers to provide flexibility in overall laboratory operations.

Provide technical leadership to the laboratory. 

Provide organizational strength and ensure individual growth is developed and maintained within the organization.

Qualified candidates will have:

Bachelor’s Degree in Chemistry, Microbiology or in a related field.

Experience in maintaining Quality Management Systems, ISO 9001:2015

Significant experience in managing a quality control laboratory within a related industry.

Knowledge of corn wet milling products and processes.

Experience working in a FSMA environment including compliance with applicable regulations governing the various product lines along with PCQI certification/knowledge.

Excellent organizational skills.  Sufficient knowledge of the industry, products and customer needs to recommend improved testing methods, instrumentation, and anticipate the testing needs of customers.
