Role Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled Release Engineer to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for managing configuration changes and releases on Veeva. This role involves deploying change requests developed by product teams and applications across multiple Veeva Orgs in alignment with Sprint cycles. Key responsibilities include manual and automated deployments, data loads, and sandbox maintenance. The Release Engineer will also create and maintain release pipelines, manage version control, and ensure seamless deployment of Veeva changes. This position is part of an innovative team driving digital transformation by supporting Veeva's capabilities in the life sciences domain. The ideal candidate will have expertise in Salesforce Veeva and release engineering practices.

What will you do in this role

Manage code deployments on Veeva by collaborating with the Veeva Development team. Handle overall sprint releases for Salesforce Veeva applications, ensuring smooth deployments, updates, and environment configurations.

Work with product teams for production data refresh to lower environments. Oversee version control for Salesforce Veeva configurations, ensuring proper tracking and documentation of changes, releases, and rollback procedures.

Work closely with cross-functional teams, including Salesforce Developers, QA Engineers, and Business Analysts, to ensure releases meet business and technical requirements.

Automate and optimize release pipelines using CI/CD tools, such as Flosum, for Salesforce and Veeva applications, improving efficiency and reducing deployment time. Troubleshoot deployment issues and resolve incidents related to change request releases on Veeva, ensuring minimal disruption to ongoing business processes.

Document release processes, version changes, and rollback plans. Ensure releases comply with internal security, regulatory, and audit standards, particularly in the pharma and life sciences domains.

Monitor system performance and stability of Salesforce Veeva applications, ensuring efficient and reliable functionality in the live production environment.

Drive improvements in release processes and DevOps best practices to streamline workflows and enhance the automation of deployment and versioning.

What should you have

Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field.

4-6 years’ experience in Salesforce Veeva release management or related roles, with a strong understanding of the Salesforce platform and Veeva configurations.

Hands-on experience with Veeva configuration deployments. Expertise in deploying Salesforce Veeva configurations and handling system releases.

Strong experience in release engineering and DevOps practices, especially using CI/CD tools (e.g., Flosum, AutoRABIT).

Knowledge of Salesforce Veeva administration and basic development (Apex, Visualforce) and the ability to write SQL queries and scripts for automation of deployment processes are highly desirable.

Understanding and experience with Salesforce cloud infrastructure and the ability to troubleshoot complex technical issues and provide timely resolution.

Certification in Salesforce (e.g., Salesforce Administrator, Developer) and/or Veeva is a plus.

Experience in an Agile/Scrum environment with exposure to working in a multi-cloud environment and integrating Salesforce Veeva with other enterprise systems. Familiarity with JIRA for project management is a plus.

Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with a collaborative approach to working across teams.
