Manager, Research

Our Research team works directly with both our Content and Sales partners to analyze audience behavior, communicate actionable content insights, and investigate opportunities for the continued growth of our properties as well as compile consumer and market insight for business development purposes. This team is highly collaborative & passionate about the media industry, and oriented towards continuous improvement.

As the Manager, your role is to support our ad sales business, lead insights projects that support competitive landscape understanding, ensure outcomes are insightful and deliver on business needs.  You will manage analysis and reporting to company stakeholders utilizing viewership data from third parties like Nielsen and other sources. You will have a strong desire to discover the “why” beyond “what” data reveals. You will be involved in all aspects of research, working closely with the Ad Sales Research team to transform large data sets into clear insights, infer trends from a variety of data sources, and confidently present findings.

Your responsibilities include compiling, analyzing Nielsen ratings and creating presentations for use by TelevisaUnivision Sales and affiliates as well as other departments within TelevisaUnivision.  In addition, you will work directly with the Director/VP of Research to optimize ratings that help meet business objectives as well as take on additional projects and initiatives whenever called upon.  Assure that research reporting is consistent, clear, accurate, relevant, insightful and timely.  Supervise and develop Research Analysts, ensuring their training and growth.

You have a strong desire to discover the “why” beyond “what” data reveals, fascinated by digging into data to uncover critical insights and has the ability to tailor reporting and data analysis to clients’ needs and objectives, including requests of an ad-hoc nature. Is a skilled collaborator who can build successful relationships with cross-functional internal teams and clients. 

YOUR DAY TO DAY

You will provide research support for TelevisaUnivision ad sales across platforms

You will manage and analyze Nielsen audience data on a daily, weekly and monthly basis

You will create program and network trend reports, highlights and materials for sales, programming, corporate communications, distribution, streaming and all levels of management

You will generate reports utilizing various tools, including Nielsen software

You will support the ad sales team on special ad-hoc audience analysis with the guidance of Directory of Network Research

You will ensure that research reporting is consistent, clear, accurate, relevant, insightful, and timely

You will supervise and develop Research Analysts, ensuring their training and growth.

You will report directly to the Senior Research Director and complete assigned tasks as required by the supervisor.

Can identify opportunities to create efficiencies and automate reporting so that more time can be spent focusing on developing insights and internal partnerships

YOU HAVE

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience

Experience reporting on and using Nielsen’s TV viewership suite products (NNTV, NPower, etc.)

Proficient in MS Excel (pivot tables and macros a plus), PowerPoint, and Word. Must know how to create and edit formulas in Excel

Proficiency in English, both oral and written, required

Strong analytical skills, critical thinker, fast learner, insights and presentation skills

You are knowledgeable, & passionate about television, streaming, content and/or the Hispanic & LatAm media landscape

Must be willing to work from a TelevisaUnivision office location in Bogota, Colombia
