Manager, Retail Planning, Retail (1Y4M)

Purpose & Overall Relevance for the Organization:  

 

This role supports retail business planning and analysis, focusing on sales, buying, and inventory. Key responsibilities include contributing to Open-to-Buy (OTB) planning, maintaining business metrics, and serving as a subject matter expert for retail reporting using Power BI. The position involves preparing performance scorecards, managing planning operations. This role provides crucial data analysis to support informed decision-making and drive retail business performance.

 

Key Responsibilities:

 

Business planning (30%)

•           Sales & Product

-Understanding OTB history trend and suggest initial plan.

-Support overall process and communication for OTB plan for CS & FO

•           Inventory

-Communication with WS, eCom & DP team for stock transfer plan to FO channel.

-Provide stock transfer visibility on monthly basis

-Update inventory data for stock simulation– actual NS, stock transfer volume, margin etc.

•           IBP

-YTD, MTD actual NS update and tracking fill rate by category

-Support overall process and communication with Buying team if necessary.

 

Business Analysis (20%)

•           Prepare and distribute weekly and monthly performance scorecards

•           Maintains the focus on support and execution rather than decision-making

•           Keeps industry-specific terms (MTD, QTD, YTD, F/A/H, P&L) which are likely familiar to applicants in this field

•           Structures each point to begin with a strong verb, following best practices for job descriptions

•           Emphasizes the analytical nature of the role without implying strategic decision-making responsibility

 

Data support & system management (25%)

•           Being a SME for retail report, power BI

•           Provide ad hoc data support

•           Assist in maintaining data integrity and accuracy across retail systems

•           Support the development and implementation of data visualization tools for retail metrics

 

Planning Operations (25%)

•           Monitor and report on actual performance, providing timely General Business Support (GBS) for store payouts

•           Manage monthly target uploads in Point of Sale (POS) systems

•           Update and maintain store Key Performance Indicator (KPI) actuals

•           Prepare and distribute monthly key Retail Financial reports to key stakeholders

Knowledge Skills and Abilities:

•           Well identified key issues and draws conclusions by analyzing and comparing data from different sources of information.

•           Consumer oriented, approachable, strong interpersonal communication skill

•           Ability to work independently under little guidance on several projects simultaneously.

•           Thinks and acts in a goal-oriented manner, prioritizes and completes tasks in order of importance.

•           Excellent in MS-Office, Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel is a preferred

•           Experience with Power BI is a preferred qualification

•           Proficient written and spoken English.

 

Requisite Education and Experience / Minimum Qualifications:

•           University degree or adequate education

•           Minimum of 5 years of professional experience in one or more of the following areas: retails merchandising, buying, product or retail sales related field/ Business operations/ Planning/ Strategy-related roles

•           Possess good sense of retail market situation
