THE OPPORTUNITY We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Manager, Revenue Accounting to join our accounting team in Denver. This is a Denver-based hybrid remote and in-person role. In this leadership role, you will be responsible for managing a team of three consisting of our accounts receivable and revenue accounting team. You and your team will be responsible for managing the Order to Cash cycle, ensuring compliance with GAAP/ASC 606, and providing technical guidance on complex revenue transactions. You will work closely with cross-functional teams including sales, customer success, professional services, and FP&A to structure revenue arrangements that align with company objectives while maintaining strict adherence to revenue recognition policies and accounting standards. This role will report directly to the Assistant Controller. Responsibilities: Revenue Recognition Policies & Compliance: Develop, implement, and maintain revenue recognition policies, procedures, and processes to ensure compliance with GAAP/ASC 606. Order to Cash Cycle: Manage the end-to-end Order to Cash process, including billing, accounts receivable management. This includes partnering with Revenue Operations on upstream Salesforce order management as well as working directly with customers, Sales, and Customer Success to obtain purchase orders and aid the Collections team in collection efforts. Collaboration: Partner with the Sales, Product, Customer Success, Professional Services, and FP&A teams to structure revenue arrangements in-line with business objectives and GAAP guidance. Complex Revenue Arrangements: Review and assess multi-element contracts, including subscription-based models with professional services, and assess each contract for non-standard terms. Stand Alone Selling Price (SSP): Establish and maintain SSP documentation to comply with ASC 606 requirements. Technical Guidance: Provide guidance on new product offerings, contract structures, and revenue recognition considerations. Month-End Close: Oversee month-end close activities related to revenue recognition, flux analysis, and account reconciliations. Technical Memos: Write technical accounting memos related to complex revenue transactions and ensure documentation supports the audit process. Audit Partnership: Partner with external auditors to manage the annual financial audits related to Order to Cash and revenue recognition. Process Improvement: Identify opportunities for process improvements and implement scalable solutions to streamline revenue recognition and billing functions. Required Skills and Qualifications: Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. Certifications: CPA (Certified Public Accountant)highly preferred. Experience: At least 5 years of experience in an accounting role, with a strong focus on revenue recognition. Technical Knowledge: Expertise in ASC 606 and SAAS revenue recognition preferred. Interpersonal Skills: Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact across multiple departments and regions. Leadership Skills: Proven ability to lead a high performing team, collaborate cross-functionally, and implement process improvements. Adaptability & Problem Solving: Highly adaptable to changing environments and capable of problem-solving in complex situations. There is no expectation of approval for an international relocation for this job.The compensation range is specific to the posted job location and role and takes into account the wide range of factors considered in making compensation decisions but not limited to skill sets, experience, training, licensure, certifications, performance, and market and peer comparisons. Salary ranges allow for growth opportunities as the employee develops new skills and/or hones current skills.
