Responsibilities 

Will have direct reports: Coordinator of Safety and Compliance CoordinatorResponsible for the oversight of Hub safety and security compliance, reduction in damages and employee injuries through developing initiatives and training programs, reduction in TSA and CBP violations through developing training and station corrective action plansMaintain an appropriate level of management oversight and control for airport operations in order to improve and maintain performance standards and provide the best service possible for American AirlinesWill have oversight of the safety and security at the HubCoordinates with Envoy Safety, Security, and Environmental on safety and regulatory affairs as well has Hub Training Department and all various departments at LAXUnderstanding and performing the Safety Risk Assessment of the HubSafety / OSHA auditsSupport station Environmental and Dangerous Goods needsEnsure effective use of the Envoy electronic observation system (EOBS)Organize safety committeesConduct investigations for safety and security concernsConduct Security auditsConduct de-ice auditsConduct Damage / injury / accident calls per the Envoy Safety manualConduct Damage / Injury / accident investigations and complete the required Board of Inquiry per the Envoy Safety manualConduct Safety and Security presentationsMaintain current Safety and Security educationJointly work with Business Partners and Vendors to ensure a healthy Safety and Security environmentOversight of Safety and Security ComplianceOther duties as assigned by Hub VPMust possess strong leadership abilities, interpersonal and organizational skillsAbility to prioritize tasks, manage a large number of projects simultaneously, and work collaboratively across functional departments is critical Qualifications

Requirements

Minimum age of 18College degree or equivalent amount of work experiencePrevious supervisory experienceProficiency in Microsoft programs such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and OutlookAirport operations experienceKnowledge of airline safety policies and proceduresPrior experience dealing with safety and OSHA auditsExperience conducting investigations, compiling data, and reporting data in presentation formatsExperience with training development and deliveryDemonstrated ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writingProven work experience building constructive and effective relationshipsPossess the legal right to work in the United StatesMust be able to read, write, fluently speak and understand the English languageMay be required to work rotating shifts, including nights and weekend
