Manager, Site Reliability Engineering

Cvent’s site reliability organization is seeking to hire a manager to lead a globally distributed “Product SRE” team. Your team will fill many roles, and you will wear many hats. Your team will run servers, provide reliability tooling, onboard acquisitions, and enable the SDLC of many stream-aligned developer teams. You will run towards the fire, solve hard problems, be a force for positive change, and motivate these behaviors in your team. In This Role, You Will: • Set the direction and strategy for your team, and help shape the overall SRE program for the company • Serve the primary point of contact for senior management stakeholders across development and cloud operations • Build a culture of excellence in site reliability and automation • Manage complex technical projects and a team of SREs • Operate application server fleets in reliable, secure, cost-effective ways • Enable partnered developer teams to continuously improve SDLC processes • Improve your team’s software engineering practice though peer reviews • Be on call as a point of team escalation and Incident Commander • Foster a learning and ownership culture within the team and the larger Cvent organization Here's What You Need: • 3+ years of experience leading site reliability and performance in large-scale, high-traffic environments • 7-10+ years of technology experience overall • Strong leadership, communication and interpersonal skills geared to getting things done • Developing themselves and the talent within their charge – fostering and creating opportunity for the team • Strong understanding of SRE concepts and the DevOps culture, with a focus on leveraging software engineering tools, methodologies, and concepts • In-depth understanding of automation and CI/CD processes to go along with excellent reasoning and problem-solving skills • Worked on large-scale distributed systems including multi-tiered architecture • Bachelor’s degree in a technology related field of study, or equivalent experience Physical Demands
