Manager, Snowflake Architect and Engineer

Whether you are digitizing drug discovery and development, identifying solutions, or making our work easier and faster, you will be making a difference to countless lives. **ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES** The Platform Delivery and Operations team, which is part of the Artificial Intelligence, Data and Advanced Analytics (AIDA) organization, provides a comprehensive suite of integrated platform technologies that are core components of Pfizer's data and analytics ecosystem. The AIDA platforms are used by teams across Pfizer to harness the potential of big data, machine learning, and interactive analytics - from scientific/clinical to commercial across all Pfizer geographies. One of these key platform technologies is the Snowflake Data Cloud. Snowflake is a Software as a Service cloud data warehousing platform. Snowflake supports the data for Pfizer applications in Commercial, Manufacturing, HR, Finance, Master Data Management, Real World Data and many others. The platform leverages the infrastructure and functionality of the cloud provider to create a very scalable, flexible and cost-effective platform for Pfizer solutions. In this role, you will act as a platform architect and engineer to create and maintain a user friendly, dependable and optimized environment for application developers and users. You will work with + Application developers helping them build and optimize their applications which use Snowflake + Snowflake architects and support engineers who will help you enhance our implementation of the platform + Resources from other software vendors (ETL, Reporting, Cataloging) who connect to Snowflake + Application users **QUALIFICATIONS** + Maintain Platform Standards including naming standards, role based access standards and warehouse usage + Enhance usage monitoring with dashboards and monitoring tools and use this information to help our Snowflake users optimize their warehouse usage and SQL queries + Help new Snowflake applications or existing applications migrating to Snowflake with solution architecture that is best for a Snowflake implementation + Become well versed with unique Snowflake features such as Dynamic tables, Snowpipe Streaming, Snowpark, Hybrid tables, Data Sharing, Replication, Iceberg so they can be shown and suggested to be part of application architectures. + Activate and maintain Snowflake features in our different accounts. + Snowflake Release Management. Understand what is part of a new release to see if it may affect our environment. + Help to build extensions to our Snowflake environment which make it more supportable and usable. + Collaborate with vendors and internal engineering teams on evaluating new technologies, supportability. + Directly engage and communicate with key business and technical stakeholders. + Document knowledge in the form of incident notes, technical articles, and contributions to knowledge bases within specific areas of expertise. + Maintain key informational content, drive platform adoption, and champion a strong user community + Collaborate with engineering and support teams on platform lifecycle management + Support change governance and continuous improvement efforts **Qualifications Must-Have** + Bachelor's degree with 5 years of relevant experience OR Master's degree with 3 years of relevant experience OR associate's degree with 8 years of relevant experience OR PHD with 0 years of relevant experience OR 10 years of relevant experience with a high school diploma or equivalent + Experience with engineering or technical role experience, ideally involving a complex and rapidly evolving software/product + Comfort working with and reading code. + Experience working with at least one type of relational database and SQL. + Some experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, and GCP. + Some experience with python. + Excellent problem solving and analytical skills with an aptitude for learning new technologies. + Strong communication skills and the ability to interface with both technical and non-technical individuals as needed. + Hands-on experience and proficiency with DevOps and information tools - e.g., JIRA, Confluence, SharePoint, Yammer, etc. + Excellent verbal and written communication skills **Nice-to-Have** + Expertise with Snowflake Data Cloud + Some experience with authentication and authorization systems like LDAP, AD, and IAM + Some knowledge of theuse of Github + Some knowledge of SQL tuning + Some Application architecture and solutioning experience **NON-STANDARD WORK SCHEDULE, TRAVEL OR ENVIRONMENT REQUIREMENTS** Occasional travel Work Location Assignment: Must be able to work in assigned Pfizer office 2-3 days per week, or as needed by the business Last day to apply: November 26 th 2024 This role is not remote The annual base salary for this position ranges from $93,500.00 to $155,900.00.* In addition, this position is eligible for participation in Pfizer's Global Performance Plan with a bonus target of 12.5% of the base salary and eligibility to participate in our share based long term incentive program.
