THE OPPORTUNITY
We are looking for a strategic and data-driven Manager of Social Media Analytics to join Scholastic’s Digital Services division. Our division partners across all lines of business — Book Fairs, Book Clubs, Education Solutions, Entertainment, and Trade Publishing — to develop sophisticated data and digital strategies that strengthen our connection with readers, educators, and parents / families around the world.
This role sits within the Data and Analytics Team, which serves as the center of excellence for data and analysis at Scholastic. This role will primarily support the Unified Social Media team, and the person in this role will serve as the analyst meant to provide insights to grow our social media presence. The team is dedicated to fostering engagement across our social media channels and driving traffic to our website. As the Manager of Social Media Analytics, you will be responsible for developing and implementing analytics strategies to measure the performance of organic social media content and utilizing social listening to understand our audience's preferences and sentiments.
You will be a self-starter who is proactive in utilizing insights to influence the team and our stakeholders, ensuring our content continues to engage and inspire. RESPONSIBILITIES
Develop and execute a comprehensive social media analytics strategy focused on organic content performance and social listening insights.
Monitor and analyze performance metrics across all organic social media channels (e.g., Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, LinkedIn, Pinterest, YouTube, and TikTok) to assess content effectiveness and audience engagement.
Utilize social listening tools to gather insights on brand sentiment, audience preferences, emerging trends, and competitive activity.
In the event of a communications crisis scenario, use social listening to understand the extent of the crisis, identify key stakeholders and influencers, and provide recommendations for next steps in partnership with the communications team and senior leadership.
Create and maintain dashboards and reports that track key performance indicators (KPIs) such as engagement rates, reach, impressions, follower growth, share of voice, and sentiment analysis.
Provide actionable insights and recommendations to optimize organic content and improve engagement and collaborate across teams to put your recommendations into action. Inspire others to test your hypothesis to drive growth in engagement and website traffic.
Stay current with the latest social media trends, platform updates, and analytics tools to ensure best practices and identify new opportunities for growth.

QualificationsHOW YOU CAN FIT (Qualifications)
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Proficiency in social media analytics tools (e.g., Sprinklr, Sprout Social, Hootsuite, Brandwatch) and social listening platforms.
Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data and present actionable insights.
Deep understanding of organic social media strategies and metrics, including engagement, traffic, reach, impressions, and sentiment analysis.
Excellent communication skills, with the ability to convey data-driven insights to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
The ability to write presentations with coherent takeaways and data storytelling.
Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
Familiarity with SEO, content marketing, and broader digital marketing strategies.
A proactive self-starter that is curious about the data and able to uncover actionable insights to help drive Social Media strategy
Proven track record of working in a team setting to collaborate and execute on projects
Preferred: experience with text mining tools for sentiment analysis
Experience:
5 - 7 years of experience in social media analytics or digital analytics
Experience in a B2B or B2C environment
Preferred: advanced knowledge of data visualization skills
Preferred: knowledge of Adobe Analytics or Google Analytics
Education:
Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Data Analytics, or a related field.
