Duties: Resolve problems through systematization, and develop high availability and low latency system architectures for trading runtime. Develop predictive analytics and monitoring for trading infrastructure. Develop CI/CD orchestration systems to reduce friction for software delivery to production. Develop tools, frameworks and instrumentation to validate and increase rollout success for applications using best practices and processes. Perform real-time troubleshooting of trading workflows and incorporate feedback to product development. Position allows for 100% remote work. Reports to company HQs in Westlake, TX. Subject to Schwab’s internal approach to workplace flexibility.

 

Job Location: Westlake, TX

 

Salary: $149,781 to $195,200 per year

 

Starting compensation for this location depends on related experience. Annual bonus opportunity and other eligible earnings are not included in the range(s) above. We offer a competitive benefits package, see below for details.

 

 

What you have

Job Requirements: Bachelor’s in Computer Science or a related field and 60 months of progressive, post-Bachelor’s experience in a related occupation. Experience must include the following: Develop and maintain automation scripts for application updates, deployment changes, and resolve issues using PowerShell and Python; Perform application configuration, security management, network management, monitor system performance, and troubleshoot server infrastructure in both Windows and Linux environments; Design, deploy, and maintain scalable and reliable resources that includes servers, databases, networking, security, and interconnected resources in cloud environment using AWS and GCP; Manage containerization using Docker and automate deployment through Kubernetes to leverage auto scaling, load balancing, self-healing, rolling updates, and resource management; Design, develop, and maintain robust real-time message streaming using Kafka and IBM MQ to optimize message throughput and minimize latency; Monitor system health, analyze performance metrics, and proactively address application downtime and performance bottlenecks using ITRS, Splunk, and Grafana; and Automate and maintain consistent configuration access across infrastructure using SCCM, Ansible, Puppet, and Salt.
