About this role:
Manager, Software Engineering position responsible for design, implementation, and support of Web based applications to help fulfill our Research & Consulting Delivery strategy.
What you’ll do:
Designing, implementing, unit, integration testing and supporting applications.Have end-to-end responsibility for leading projects focused on performance, modular, extensible web applications.Demonstrate a deep knowledge of .NET frameworks and best practicesLead the review and analysis of business requirements to create technical specificationsLead and participate in code reviews, peer inspections and technical design/specificationsPrepare and provide adequate (quality and quantity) documentation for work products.Work with cross-functional teams to resolve business process issues and identify business process improvement opportunitiesResponsibility for resolving all issues assigned in a timely mannerOwnership for development of application architecture and delivery of technical solutions that meet business requirementsEnsure that all applications conform to system and programming standards and are appropriately documentedPerform support and maintenance tasks to address production issues reported by clientsManage formal and informal project communication amongst team and with other project participants using methods appropriate to audience and type of communicationEvaluate developers following project completion identifying strengths and areas for development via a formal, written performance appraisalWhat you’ll need:
Bachelor’s degree or foreign equivalent degree in Computer Science or a related field required
Must have
At least 8 years of software engineering experienceShould have direct people management experience.NET experience with a relational databaseStrong knowledge of C#, ASP.NET, .NET framework, Entity Framework, Visual StudioExperience with HTML, JavaScript, CSS and React frameworkIn-depth knowledge of integration and web services technologies (HTTP, SOAP, REST, XML, JSON)Experience building scalable data models and performing complex relational databases queries using PL/SQL (Oracle, MySQL, Postgres), etc.Experience with Continuous Integration / Continuous Deployment tools like JenkinsStrong understanding of DevOps tools and practicesExperience with Scrum software development methodologyA proven track record of experience in leading the design and deployment of large-scale solutions.Experience in all phases of a systems development lifecycleExcellent software development and object-oriented design fundamentals with a strong background in architecting software applicationsNice to have
Hands-on experience in writing Terraform, CloudFormation, Ansible, kudu scriptsWorking knowledge of containers like Docker, KubernetesFamiliarity with web analytics tools (e.g. Google Analytics, Full Story etc.)Knowledge of enterprise search platforms such as Apache Solr or ElasticearchKnowledge of AWS or Microsoft AzureKnowledge of tracking, monitoring, and logging systems (Splunk, Dynatrace, Datadog)Who you are:
