Manager, Software Engineering (Mobile Development) - Hybrid Requisition Id: 378360 Business Unit: Corporate Location: Portland, OR, US, 97209 **What you’ll need to succeed as a Manager, Software Engineering (Mobile Development) at XPO** At a minimum, you’ll need: + Bachelor's degree or equivalent related work or military experience + 5 years of relevant software development experience at the lead, or principle level + 1+ year experience managing or leading software engineers/developers + Experience with React Native and TypeScript + Knowledge of Android app development Preferred qualifications: + Bachelor’s degree in software engineering or related technical field + Experience with the industry standard IDEs – Visual Studio + Experience in software configuration management using GIT and Enterprise Git Hub + Experience consuming REST APIs + Experience using Jira or other project management software + Experience with SQL and relational databases (DB2/UDB, Oracle, MySQL, SQLLite) + Experience in working under multiple operating systems like Windows, UNIX (Sun Solaris and Linux) and UNIX Shell scripting + Experience with TeamCity to create and maintain continuous integration and continuous deployment configurations for applications that are on premise and in GCP environments. + Experience in production support activities by monitoring and troubleshooting production issues. + Experience gathering, analyzing, and documenting system requirements.7 years of relevant software development experience at the lead, or principle level **About the Manager, Software Engineering (Mobile Development) job** Pay, benefits and more: + Competitive compensation package + Full health insurance benefits available on day one + Life and disability insurance + Earn up to 15 days of PTO over your first year + 9 paid company holidays + 401(k) option with company match + Education assistance What you’ll do on a typical day: + Lead a technical group responsible for developing software, by driving efforts to improve quality conducting reviews of architecture, design, code and testing strategy + Be responsible for maintaining, enhancing, designing and developing software systems responsible for all core business functions. You’ll need a strong focus on designing and maintaining robust, resilient, high-performance systems and integrations due to the 24/7 business model and criticality of freight under management. + Assist in hiring and retaining team’s talent, provide regular feedback to direct reports to assist in their ongoing professional growth and development + Monitor work progress to ensure development projects remain on schedule, manage issues and risks + Be available for testing/support on scheduled deployment dates that are designated by the standardized change management process. + Evaluate and select process and logic patterns, programming language constructs, data storage methods, and operating environment interfaces that effectively satisfy business requirements and quantifiable measures; develop appropriate programs and systems documentation per established department standards. + Collaborate with tech leads, architects, systems engineers, project managers, systems administrators, and operations analysts to deploy and implement solutions, and troubleshoot technical issues. + Ensure software development and system changes are performed adhering to company controls + Responsible for analysis of current software platforms including performance, diagnosis and troubleshooting of technical issues **\#LI-Hybrid** **About XPO** XPO is a top ten global provider of transportation services, with a highly integrated network of people, technology and physical assets.
