About the Role
You will focus on understanding, articulating, and demonstrating how the portfolio helps to solve customer challenges, doing this through targeted go-to-market planning, messaging, and sales enablement. This will drive the achievement of business goals and improve the position of Elsevier as a valuable partner in increasing the impact and cultivating the success of librarians and researchers in academic or government organizations. In addition, the Audience Marketer will partner with Acquisition, Customer Engagement, and Regional Marketing teams on the delivery of marketing programs in support of commercial goals. This role will have a strong focus on our largest online peer-reviewed knowledge platform, ScienceDirect and the role it plays within the portfolio, as well as supporting additional portfolio offerings on a needs basis. It provides the opportunity to work in a variety of areas, as you will be orchestrating go-to-market strategies, influencing product roadmaps, and performing competitor analyses. It also provides an opportunity to contribute at a strategic level on future growth projects that support the books and journals portfolio and the digital platform that hosts them, ScienceDirect. You will collaborate with colleagues and cross-functional teams to develop use-case based, value-led positioning and messaging for our portfolio. You will be a key contributor to projects to identify new market opportunities in key regions and countries that support portfolio growth. You will work remotely with colleagues all around the world.
Responsibilities
Create compelling, customer-oriented, differentiated value propositions and messaging to support new, cross-sell and renewal objectives and development of customer-facing materials.
Own and orchestrate the end-to-end go-to-market process for our books business
Bring an analytical, metrics-based approach to measuring, assessing, and improving marketing performance.
Developing and executing go-to-market strategies for our books business, ensuring alignment with overall business goals and objectives.
Create compelling, customer-oriented value propositions and messaging to support new, cross-sell, and renewal objectives.
Collaborating with cross-functional teams, including Acquisition, Customer Engagement, and Regional Marketing, to deliver marketing programs that support commercial goals.
Requirements
Strong marketing capabilities with experience in B2B solution or Product/portfolio marketing, experience with data platform marketing or complex IT solutions marketing will be a plus.
A track record in branding, positioning, value proposition development and messaging and the ability to size and analyse markets.
Have experience working with global sales organisations and knowledge of sales processes
Show the ability to support the development of go-to-market plans and lead high-priority projects
Strong communication and people skills - experience in working in a matrix environment with multiple stakeholders and partners preferred
Strong organisational and project management skills with customer orientated approach
Ability to work with little supervision and as part of a team
Experience working with, or deep knowledge of, university research workflows and processes
Knowledge of academic and government buyer and user personas a plus
Excellent stakeholder management skills and comfortable with presenting to senior stakeholders
