Your New Role…
This position is responsible for managing direct market sales and promotions as well as implementing sales plans in the U.S. and internationally. The Manager, Specialty Sales has a key role in growing DC's presence in direct market/comic book specialty stores, promoting DC’s publishing priorities, and acting as the primary liaison with comics shops and distributors.

Your Role Accountabilities...
•    Sales Programs: Work with Director, Specialty, Advertising, & Custom Sales to create and execute sales programs for priority titles, ensuring that internal teams are aware of such programs and that retailers have sufficient information and time to make purchasing decisions about each title. Create and establish retailer-focused rewards programs with the goal of maximizing sales of DC publications (periodical, original graphic novels, collected editions). Make recommendations for print runs on each title and track sell-thru of each. Revisit execution plans (weekly, monthly, quarterly) with Director and the VP, Sales & Marketing to measure benchmarks and adjust as necessary to hit sales goals. Work with the Editorial, Publishing Operations, and Production teams to ensure that title metadata is represented correctly in DC’s information systems.
•    Account Management: Lead day-to-day communication with direct market distributors and manage the communication of sales incentive programs and promotional items to retailers. Proactively communicate publishing plans and sales programs to distributors to ensure maximum lead times for solicitation of publications. Work with the Finance team to create P&Ls for each program and conduct/present post-program analysis for each.
•    Sales Solicitation: Oversee the development of the monthly DC CONNECT catalog to ensure accurate representation of each title, prioritizing importance to highlight key initiatives and titles. Oversee retailer communication newsletters emphasizing upcoming titles available for pre-order and conveying important initiatives.
•    Sales Reporting: Update and present weekly/monthly sales tracking for all titles, including initial orders, FOC orders, inventory, back orders, and make suggestions for titles to be reprinted as necessary. Present sales reports to key stakeholders on the Sales, Editorial, and Production teams during monthly meetings.
•    Sales Meetings and Presentations: Attend account sales meetings and trade shows/conventions as necessary to promote priority titles and new publishing initiatives. Create PowerPoint presentations for each and present sales plans, priority titles, and sales incentive programs. Lead webinars with designated retailers to communicate publishing plans for retailers. Create sales support materials in partnership with the Marketing team as necessary.
•    Perform other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications & Experience…

Work Experience
•    Six (6) years of relevant work experience in sales and/or brand marketing required.
•    Previous experience at a publishing company preferred.
•    Previous experience with data analysis, market research, and P&L management preferred.

Education, Professional Training, Technical Training or Certification
•    Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent experience required.
•    Master’s degree preferred.

Knowledge and Skills
•    Must be able to communicate effectively and tactfully (both verbally and in writing) with individuals at all levels of the organization and with external partners and stakeholders.
•    Must be able to influence others, and drive for results in a prioritized manner.
•    Must be able to organize, work well under time constraints, meet deadlines, and manage multiple tasks and project elements simultaneously.
•    Must be able to pay close attention to details and handle confidential material.
•    Must be a creative, solution-focused person with a growth mindset.
•    Must be comfortable working in a fast-paced, highly dynamic work environment.
•    Proficiency using Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook) and Adobe Acrobat required. Proficiency with Adobe Photoshop is preferred.
•    Knowledge of core DC comic book characters, franchises, mythologies and terminology preferred.
•    Knowledge of publishing/comic book industry preferred.

Other Requirements
•    Must be able to travel as needed approximately 25% of the time.

In compliance with local law, we are disclosing the compensation, or a range thereof, for roles in locations where legally required. Actual salaries will vary based on several factors, including but not limited to external market data, internal equity, location, skill set, experience, and/or performance. Base pay is just one component of Warner Bros. Discovery’s total compensation package for employees. Pay Range: $59,507.00 - $110,512.00 salary per year. Other rewards may include annual bonuses, short- and long-term incentives, and program-specific awards. In addition, Warner Bros. Discovery provides a variety of benefits to employees, including health insurance coverage, an employee wellness program, life and disability insurance, a retirement savings plan, paid holidays and sick time and vacation.
