What you can expect from this position:

Reporting to the Associate Director, Airport Operations, this position is responsible for managing the Shift Scheduling Coordinators (SSC) and the Staff Deployment teams’ delivery of daily operations.  This role will also be responsible for delivery of the Staff Deployment Plan, while ensuring the team is fully staffed and trained with a supporting quality program to ensure organizational staffing needs are met.

As a Manager, Staff Deployment, you will:

Ensure staffing of all roles with competent, trained personnel through the development and delivery of a comprehensive and robust recruiting and training processes. Lead and deliver legislated training as well as job-specific training through a comprehensive training program that tracks individual progress, team performance and address specific needs by identifying gaps in staff understanding and knowledge through recurrent training. Collaborate with the operational management team to manage the staff’s attendance and performance to identify burgeoning matters while addressing and resolving issues at the lowest level and with the least impact on the Unit and the operation. Develop and manage annual budget and business plan aligned to the Corporate Strategic Plan which includes all aspects of the operation including training and development, growth and maturation of programs and asset life cycle management of consumables. Perform audits to ensure standards are being applied consistently and follow up with corrective actions as necessary. Investigate and follow up on complaints related to adherence of the Team to the Labour Code, CBA, SDP, and best practices. Maintain regular liaison with key partners and stakeholders related to both the delivery of services provided by the Staff Deployment team, which include but are not limited to HR and other internal Business Units Leaders. Maintain a high-level of engagement with the business and create, address or otherwise modify SOPs to meet business needs and reflect same with communication and training. Execute organization plans where Staff Deployment has key deliverables and accountabilities in support of regular operations and IRROP scenarios. Lead people by providing coaching, guidance, and development by providing meaningful feedback for personal and career growth. The salary for this management position is competitive based on the successful candidate’s qualifications.

This is the role for you, if you have:

A post-secondary degree or diploma, preferably in Business Management/Administration, or a combination of education and relevant experience Minimum of 2 years of leadership experience in people management 3 years’ experience with employee scheduling in a unionized environment preferred Experience leading a unionized workforce, in a matrixed organization with a strong focus on metrics, including demonstrated experience establishing and working with key performance indicators and service level agreements would be an asset Ability to obtain and retain Transportation Security Clearance at the designated level for the position

Ability to focus on analytics and reporting to drive insights. Strong communication skills both in written and verbal formats. Ability to communicate and train others in related content. Ability to focus on the training and development elements of the role. Demonstrated experience with collective bargaining agreements and the application of articles related to staffing, leave, pay, etc. Advanced Kronos/UKG user expertise preferred Demonstrated skills with data analytics tools including Power BI preferred
