This hybrid position is located in the vibrant Strip District of Pittsburgh, offering the convenience of both in-office and remote work. Plus, enjoy the perk of free parking on office days! If you have a knack for state tax laws, provisions, and filings, and can handle a challenging workload, we want you on our team! **Essential Functions:** + Lead quarterly estimate calculations using year-to-date data and full-year forecasts to ensure accurate cash forecasting. + Reconcile tax receivable/payable quarterly. + Calculate federal/state tax differences and reconcile state deferred tax assets/liabilities (e.g., depreciation, interest, net operating losses). + Assist the tax planning group with tax audits and research. + Monitor and implement changes across relevant state/local jurisdictions and communicate effects to the team. + Identify and propose improvements for compliance and provision processes. + Manage state apportionment with a focus on automation, accuracy, and planning. + Work with FP&A, Treasury, Corporate Accounting, and Legal on various ad hoc projects. + Prepare, review, and analyze responses to tax notices, audit inquiries, and other tax-related documents. + Manage outside service providers for special projects. + Review/prepare amendments to prior filings as necessary. + Provide guidance and support to the tax team and other departments. + Assist other departments with indirect and property tax filings when needed. + Lead projects like assessment appeals and ghost asset removals to reduce property tax obligations. \#LI-CT1 \#LI-Hybrid **Basic Qualifications:** + **Education** : Bachelor's degree in Accounting. + **Experience** : 7 years in public accounting, a corporate tax department, or equivalent. **Preferred Qualifications:** + Advanced degree (JD/LLM, Master's in Taxation, MBA, or CPA). + Experience with tax compliance and return preparation software (CorpTax and Oracle preferred). + Experience with interim and year-end income tax provision calculations (ASC 740). + Strong understanding of corporate income tax principles, tax issues for manufacturers, and M&A skills. + Knowledge of federal consolidated return regulations and state combined reporting regimes. + Familiarity with tax law, GAAP, and regulatory requirements (SOX). + Solid accounting skills and significant exposure to ASC 740. + Excellent project management and leadership skills; able to prioritize multiple time-sensitive projects. **Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:** + Ability to analyze and interpret federal and state tax laws and regulations. + Perform tax research, analyze authorities, and reach sound conclusions. + Handle multiple tasks independently with strong judgment and decision-making skills. + Excellent organizational skills, verbal/written communication, project management, and planning. + Highly organized, able to manage competing priorities and projects. + Strong ability to take initiative, originate action, and be responsible for decisions. + High attention to detail, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills. + Strong verbal and written communication skills. + Proficient with Microsoft Products and Tax Research Product. **Join our team and help us navigate the intricate world of state taxes efficiently and effectively!** **We** **thrive when the expectations are great, and the barriers are high.
