Job Description
Manages, plans, organizes and evaluates the staff and activities of Central Sterile services within hospital. Adheres to approved operating goals, objectives and budget.
Job Responsibility
+ Provides leadership to Sterile Processing team members and supervisors by communicating and guiding toward achieving department objectives.
+ Develops, communicates, and builds consensus for goals in alignment with the health system.
+ Selects, develops, manages and evaluates direct reports; ensures performance appraisals are completed in a timely fashion.
+ Manages and documents staff competency levels; develops staffing schedule to accommodate hospital services, physicians and patient needs.
+ Communicates with department Supervisors and staff to ensure instrument availability and smooth operation of department.
+ Communicates with perioperative management to implement efficient work flows based on daily perioperative needs/schedules.
+ Participates in planning for future needs of various shifts including staffing, program development, intradepartmental relationships and instrument/ equipment inventory levels.
+ Ensures daily compliance and consistent application of sterilization principles, standards and techniques at facility.
+ Utilizes Incident Reporting the health system for trending areas in need of improvement; follows up on incident report communications and makes recommendations, as required.
+ Monitors and ensures maintenance of department inventory levels.
+ Prepares reports related to department operations and metrics; tracks budgets and spending for instrumentation/equipment; maintains the integrity of departmental records.

Job Qualification
+ Bachelor's Degree required, or equivalent combination of education and related experience.
+ Current Registered Central Supply Technician Certification required, plus specialized certifications as needed.
+ 7 + years of relevant experience and 2-5 years of leadership / management experience, required.

The salary range for this position is $58,540-$92,650/year
