Position Summary & Highlights:
We are seeking a Manager of Sterile Processing who manages the daily operations of the Sterile Processing Department and has oversight for all reprocessing methodology processes for Saint Alphonsus Regional Medical Center (SARMC) and associated clinics.
What you will do:
Under general supervision, the Manager is responsible for directing the hospital’s Central Processing Unit in providing equipment and sterilized instrumentation to the hospital. The Central Processing Manager will also ensure the department will meet or exceed regulatory requirements and that the department be maintained in a cost-effective manner. Oversee and manage the activities of Central Processing, its functions, operations and services which include central decontamination and sterile processing of reusable instruments and equipment used throughout the medical center. Establish policies and procedures related to central decontamination and sterilization. Serve as a positive role model to facilitate and improve department performance and activities, demonstrating effective communication skills with peers, leads, staff, department managers and guest, to create an efficient workflow and team atmosphere.
Minimum Qualifications
Required:
High school diploma or equivalent required.
Successful completion of a sterile processing management certification examination; from a recognized Central Service Organization required (IAHCSMM or CBSPD). CHL preferred.
Five years of experience in Central Sterile Processing with one year of supervisory experience required. May consider Operating Room supervisory experience with specialty certification SPD.
Preferred:
Knowledge of all functional work in Sterile Processing, budget management, people management, documentation and productivity preferred
Bachelor's degree in health sciences, Business is preferred.
