The Product Support and Logistics Division (PSLD) is one of the most innovative divisions within Caterpillar. In PSLD, as within all of Caterpillar, our priority is our customers and helping them build a better world. We touch nearly every element of the services value stream from procurement to design and manufacturing to distribution. PSLD is responsible for Aftermarket Parts Distribution of Cat Parts, Integrated Logistics, segment Procurement and the design and manufacture of Wear Components (Undercarriage and GET) and Maintenance Components (Seals, Tubes & Hardware, Hose & Couplings, Fluids and Filters).

The Manager, Storeroom Operations you will be responsible for managing all aspects of the day-to-day operations for all shifts within the Caterpillar Atlanta Distribution Center.

What You Will Do:

Managing staffing, development, and performance management programs for operations staff; managing, motivating, and developing management team.Overseeing operations activities, ensuring that safety, and schedules and performance requirements are met and system resources are used effectively.Monitoring overall operations performance and implementing production safety, cost, and quality control mechanisms.Developing, implementing and continuously improving all logistics processes to maximize efficiency and productivity.Evaluating logistics processes and workflows, conducting root cause analysis, and implementing corrective actions for process-related concerns.Other duties as assigned by Caterpillar management from time-to-time.


What You Have (Basic Qualifications):

Business Process Improvement:  Knowledge of business process improvement best practices and ability to use methods for identifying, evaluating, introducing and implementing more efficient approaches to performing business related activities.Gathers data for use in the analysis of business processes.Illustrates problems, opportunities and methods for improving existing business processes.Suggests ways to reduce variation and/or waste in processes.Helps evaluate what factors should be addressed in the change program.Participates in requirements analysis for process changes.Analytical Thinking:  Knowledge of techniques and tools that promote effective analysis; ability to determine the root cause of organizational problems and create alternative solutions that resolve these problems.Effective Communications:  Understanding of effective communication concepts, tools and techniques; ability to effectively transmit, receive, and accurately interpret ideas, information, and needs through the application of appropriate communication behaviors.Distribution Center Management:  Knowledge of distribution processes, issues and considerations; ability to effectively manage the receipt, storage, and distribution of inventory to stores and/or customers.Works with Distribution Requirements Planning (DRP) basic processes and operations.Maintains item and inventory management records.Helps minimize bottlenecks and delays and the resulting impact on operating costs.Uses real-time inventory software, with guidance, to move supplies where needed, when needed.Assists in resolving issues related to physical space management.

What Will Set You Apart (Preferred Qualifications):

Bachelor’s degree in Manufacturing Operations, Supply Chain, Logistics, or related field.Progressively responsible job-related experience in at least one of the following areas: Material Control, Purchasing, Parts Distribution Operations, Inventory Control, Manufacturing Operations, or Traffic Systems.Previous Lean Operations/Continuous Improvement/Six Sigma experience.Previous experience leading large teams.

Summary Pay Range:

$126,000.00 - $189,000.00

Compensation and benefits offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, job level, market location, job-related knowledge, skills, individual performance and experience. Please note that salary is only one component of total compensation at Caterpillar.
