Manager, Strategy and Governance

Habitat for Humanity is looking for a skilled and experienced professional to undertake the role of Manager in Strategy and Governance. This position will be responsible to support the implementation of Asia-Pacific’s strategic framework and the development of annual divisional objectives and their respective reporting. This position will also support the development and implementation of strengthening plans to local board of trustees/directors of National Organizations of Habitat in Asia Pacific.
The areas that this position are going to focus on: change monitoring in the areas of strategic planning – strategy and annual plan monitoring, as well as on governance strengthening of National Organizations.
This position is based at the Asia Pacific Area Office (APO), Makati City, Philippines. Candidates must be currently eligible to work in the country without sponsorship. The successful candidate will be offered an initial contract of two (2) year fixed term contract subject for renewal depending on the availability of the funds.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
StrategyDevelops implementation and monitoring tools for the application of the AP’s strategic framework by the Area Office and across the Habitat network in AP. This activity is implemented under the guidance of the Vice President (VP) and in coordination with the Area Management Team (AMT).Liaises and communicates with National Organizations to accompany and support the development of their strategic plans and their alignment with AP’s strategic framework Supports and coordinates with APO’s Program Operations in the development of strategies by National Organizations based on Habitat’s Theory of Change (TOC).Coordinates the development and reporting on a quarterly basis of Area Office divisional objectives and annual plans.Analyzes, interprets and produces reports on the data submitted through organization-wide data collection efforts and prepare reports to be used by AMT, National Board of Directors and various organizational teams, in strategic decision-making and implementation processes.In collaboration with other Subject Matter Experts (SMEs), monitors the processes and analysis of AP national programs regarding the implementation of their strategic plans, business, annual operating plans and the achievement of their targets. Develops clear and illustrative content, indicators and forecasting tools for the AMT to demonstrate APO National Programs’ progress towards the targets of the Strategic Plan. Ensure that processes within the Asia-Pacific region are aligned to ensure the greatest efficiency in achieving the strategic objectives.
GovernanceDevelops guidelines and tools for local Board strengthening plans of National Organizations under the guidance of the VP and in coordination with the AMT and Global Risk Management and Compliance (GRC)Monitors governance strengthening plans of local boards and maintains documentation from them.Supports and coordinates with National Organizations and GRC in the development and rollout of local Board trainings.Supports the VP and AMT members in their participation in Board meetings of National Organizations keeping track of key activities, deliverables and documentation.Supports the VP in the active participation on the International Strategic Advisory Council of HFHI (Habitat for Humanity International)Supports the development of monitoring tools of change initiatives in coordination with the change management functions.Supports the implementation of special projects assigned by the VP.Research and connects with peers on best practices and benchmarking against industry standards in the area of NGO (Nongovernmental organization) governance

Minimum Requirements:
Education:Bachelor’s degreePreference to Master’s degree in a related area
Years of Related Experience:8 years

Preferred:Experience working in the Asia Pacific RegionFluency in any of the languages in the Asia Pacific Region
