Responsibilities
This Manager is a highly visible, people-centric leader, overseeing Supplier Quality Engineering reporting to the IMS Director of Supplier Quality. This group of highly skilled Supplier Quality Engineers are responsible for all aspects of supplier quality. This leader is integral to the overall success of Operations Team and is responsible for developing and implementing solutions for manufacturing within the Wescam Supply Chain.
Manage daily activities of your Supplier Quality function/team; establish performance standards; formulate staff development plans; coach and inspire staff; provide guidance and direction on problems and issues; delegate work assignments considering employee skills and development needsIdentify, justify and deliver significant supplier quality continuous improvements and cost reductionsProvide leadership for lean strategies and activitiesProvide project management leadership through direct reports and othersCoordinate manufacturing launch for new or revised productsDrive the investments on new initiatives and other changes necessary to improve supplier efficiency, quality and operational safetyParticipate in Engineering design reviewsSupport all efforts and implementation of AS9100Manage department budget and perform capital expenditure analysisFocus on Operations Level KPIs and deliverablesPerform performance reviews and adjustments of colleagues as requiredParticipate in the Quality Alert & containment processSkills Required
Ability to inspire a team in a growing and changing environmentMust have Engineering experience in a high tech assembly environment.Excellent knowledge of Supplier Quality Engineering.Excellent technical communication skills both verbal and written.Ability to develop strong working relationships with related key managers and support staffAbility to assign priorities to tasks/ assignments so they are completed within the designated timeframe.Must be well organized, goal oriented and able to give attention to detail.Outstanding analytical and problem solving skillsExperience in all areas of monthly, quarterly and annual reporting and budgetingExperience in a large company environmentAS9100 knowledge and experience.AS9145 knowledge a plus.Experience & Education Requirements
Must have a well-rounded background with Engineering experience in a high tech environment.Minimum of 5-7 years’ experience in a Quality Engineering capacity.Experience with manufacturing processes, 8D root cause, project or quality improvement plans Green Belt Certification or equivalent industry lean experience is an asset but not required#LI-BD1
