Manager, Technical Product Management

About the role:
In this opportunity as Manager, Technical Product Management, you will:

Define, socialize, drive and report on product Objectives and Key Results (OKRs) and their corresponding Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).  Assemble technical product vision, roadmaps, define epics and features, collect and review user feedback, refine user requirements, prioritize, drive execution, and adjust delivery schedules as needed to drive progress towards OKRs.  Partner with leadership to plan for adequate team resourcing, effective team collaboration, and to properly estimate and communicate delivery timelines.  Ensure your team is aligned with partnering product, engineering, content, design, and subject matter expert teams.  Identify and implement communication patterns that facilitate collaboration while protecting team focus. Provide technical guidance to partner product teams during all phases of development including but not limited to solution brainstorming, prioritization, technical feasibility scoping, and UX research/design.  Hire, manage, and develop a team of Technical Product Managers, building culture, best practice, and furthering excellence around the practice of Technical Product Management.Balance factors such as cost, time to market and resourcing to optimize iterative value delivery for customers.  

Key Responsibilities:

Product Leadership: Lead the strategy, design, and development of our products and services, ensuring expert guidance on business requirements, feature/function trade-offs, and release schedules.Cross-Functional Collaboration: Direct and influence cross-functional teams to ensure all dependencies for product delivery are met.Stakeholder Engagement: Work closely with users and stakeholders to gather and prioritize feedback, drive innovation, enhancing client adoption and retention.Strategic Planning: Engage in budgeting activities and develop 3rd party partnerships, demonstrating expertise on company products and industry trends.Product Lifecycle Management: Develop and execute plans to sunset obsolete product features and services, ensuring a streamlined product portfolio.People Management: Responsible for developing talent, including hiring, goal setting, feedback and coaching, strategic retention and differentiation of talent, holding performance reviews, assisting in compensation planning, and managing transitions of talent.


About you:
You are a fit for the role if you have:

Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, machine learning or related field At least 3 years of experience as a member of a technical product development team working on applied AI research, including contributing to and driving end-to-end delivery of technical AI research products. Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, capable of presenting complex information clearly to diverse audiences and articulating a compelling strategic vision. Demonstrated ability to build relationships and influence within a matrix organization. Experience with agile project management and scrum methodologies. Strong analytical and quantitative skills, utilizing data and metrics to inform decisions. Experience collaborating with cross-functional teams (technology, design, marketing) to balance trade-offs in technologies and execution strategies. High attention to detail and proven ability to manage multiple, competing priorities simultaneously with minimal supervision. Experience mentoring others, helping to grow and develop talent directly or indirectly within your area of expertise.Experience balancing short-term tactical execution with strategic long-term vision. 

Preferred Qualifications 

At least 3 years of experience building ML, NLP or Computer Vision systems from ideation to production. At least 1 year of experience owning a Software as a Service, Machine Learning Platform, Human in the Loop or AI as a Service products. Previous experience as a technical product managerPrevious experience as a manager, coaching and developing a team of direct reports. Data-driven decision making. Experience writing and publishing research papers at conferences and workshops.

Thomson Reuters complies with local laws that require upfront disclosure of the expected pay range for a position. The base compensation range varies across locations. For any eligible US locations, unless otherwise noted, the base compensation range for this role is $116,900 - $217,100. This role may also be eligible for an Annual Bonus based on a combination of enterprise and individual performance. Base pay is positioned within the range based on several factors including an individual’s knowledge, skills and experience with consideration given to internal equity. Base pay is one part of a comprehensive Total Reward program which also includes flexible and supportive benefits and other wellbeing programs.
