Manager, Technical Program Management

The Manager of Technical Program Management will be responsible for driving critical strategic technical programs with a strong emphasis on electronics and mechanical systems. This role requires someone with 5- 7 years of experience leading technical programs, preferably with a background in solar systems and BESS. The Manager will be responsible for managing cross-functional teams, including electrical mechanical, compliance engineers, and technicians, to ensure the successful implementation of high-impact projects. This role involves driving the program technically and being hands-on with project execution. The ideal candidate should have strong leadership and project management skills, with an ability to navigate complex technical challenges and drive projects forward to meet goals and deadlines.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Work closely with engineering teams to outline program requirements, prioritize tasks, and develop a comprehensive roadmap and long-term strategy.

Partner with diverse teams to facilitate technical analysis, design, development, testing, implementation, and deployment processes.

Recognize interdependencies, potential risks, and necessary changes across functions.

Create and manage communication strategies to proactively inform stakeholders about program status, challenges, and risks.

Oversee program management activities during the phases of analysis, design, development, testing, and deployment.

Conduct risk identification and management for programs while ensuring clear communication.

Facilitate daily coordination of projects and tasks to ensure smooth operations.

Promote enhancements in processes and communication across multiple internal and external teams.

Guide multiple functional program managers while aligning overall timelines with Engineering Program Managers.

 

Minimum Qualifications

Requires a Master's degree (or foreign degree equivalent) in Electronics, Mechanical, Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.

Requires previous people management experience

Strong understanding of Electrical design and/or Mechanical Engineering concepts with hands on experience for at least 5 years

Key understanding of compliance standards

Prior experience in Energy Storage systems or solar industry preferred

Experience developing and scaling TPM or engineering teams

Delivering technical programs or products from inception to launch and support

Bringing clarity to ambiguous, complex products and programs

Preferred Qualifications:

CSM: Certified Scrum Master

Physical Demands: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear; and use hands to manipulate objects or controls. The employee is regularly required to stand and walk.  On occasion the incumbent may be required to stoop, bend or reach above the shoulders. The employee must occasionally lift up to 25 - 50 pounds. Specific conditions of this job are typical of frequent and continuous computer-based work requiring periods of sitting, close vision and ability to adjust focus. Occasional travel.
