Manager, Technical Program Management
We are looking for a Manager, Technical Program Management to join our team. We focus on building and scaling Search and Content Recommendation systems and services for our direct-to-consumer streaming app, Max. We are looking for an innovative technical leader who will guide teams in solving, planning and delivering for complex technical problems and solutions to our customers. Your role will be responsible for ensuring that the scope, deliverables, and timelines are met by managing all aspects of a project life cycle including project planning, development, change control, implementation, issue management, customer relationships and team leadership. You have a strong sense of responsibility and ownership for the success of projects from inception to rollout and maintenance. You are a collaborative partner who is always thinking ahead, challenging assumptions and anticipating issues before they happen.
Expectations:
Scope: You are assigned programs that impact multiple components and processes and the work of your own and several other teams, and they are highly strategic and complex, with a web of dependencies to manage.
Impact: You create functional-level impacts for multiple teams. You manage large complex technical programs that span across multiple teams, departments, and even organizations. You work across multiple teams to drive technical solutions and influence decisions and outcomes. Others consider you an expert technical resource within at least one major technical area. You have detailed working knowledge of all technical areas relative to your program/initiative. You work to maintain a quarterly view of defined, prioritized and scoped work for execution by your respective engineering teams.
Mentorship & Team Management: You are expected to guide the day-to-day work of other TPMs. You coach and mentor up to Staff/Manager level and provide input to leadership on development needs and growth opportunities for team members with suggestions on how to address them. You model an inclusive and supportive culture. You ask thoughtful questions and seek feedback with the intent of becoming a better leader.
Partnerships. & Communication: Partner with product management and engineering leaders across the organization to drive the most complex technical initiatives. You communicate with clarity, precision and confidence whether speaking with junior engineers or executive leaders. People across the business will come to you when they want to understand a program. You can discuss, align, and communicate capacity and feature trade-offs across product and technical leadership and help align on a roadmap effectively. This role will engage directly with senior leaders to identify near term improvements that are aligned with long term strategic goals.
Problem Definition & Complexity - Define problem statements with data driven proposals, recommendations, and solutions; then drive alignment across all stakeholders. You can negotiate trade-offs across a program portfolio to speed execution of the most important projects first. Your decisions balance the priorities of short-term and long-term business needs. You can begin planning and executing parts of an ambiguous project even as you drive clarifications of the requirements. You can critically assess implementation proposals from third-party partners. You are an autonomous representative for your area providing knowledgeable feedback in technical discussions about solution design and implementation.
Process: You apply your deep knowledge to invent, evolve, improve, or simplify processes. You drive your team’s planning process and demonstrate the capacity to think strategically above and beyond the tactical responsibilities of project delivery. You are a Champion of engineering and program best practices, helping to establish a culture of disciplined engineering and helping to implement mechanisms to help the team be more effective.
Skills & Experience:
8+ years of Technical Program Management experience in a software product development environment.
Proven experience as a technical leader. Demonstrated ability to earn trust, influence without authority, and successfully lead the development of complex applications.
Emotional intelligence to lead through influence, while building a culture of teamwork and inclusiveness.
Systems thinking and a strong sense of ownership to drive complex programs with complex interdependencies that require definition from the ground up.
First-rate technical program management skills, including the ability to balance multiple, sometimes competing, priorities with date-driven timelines and a solid understanding of risk management.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to target communications to executive leadership, and across the organization and to external partners.
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to translate data into actionable insights
Exceptional organizational and multitasking abilities, with a keen attention to detail.
Strong strategic thinking and analytical skills, with the ability to translate data into actionable insights.
Strong leadership and influence abilities, with the capacity to inspire and motivate cross-functional teams.
Experience with agile development methodologies and project management tools such as JIRA, Confluence, Smart Sheets etc
Entertainment or media industry experience.
Experience working with consumer facing products.
Successful working experience with globally dispersed teams to act as one company.

In compliance with local law, we are disclosing the compensation, or a range thereof, for roles in locations where legally required. Actual salaries will vary based on several factors, including but not limited to external market data, internal equity, location, skill set, experience, and/or performance. Base pay is just one component of Warner Bros. Discovery’s total compensation package for employees. Pay Range: $145,600.00 - $270,400.00 salary per year. Other rewards may include annual bonuses, short- and long-term incentives, and program-specific awards. In addition, Warner Bros. Discovery provides a variety of benefits to employees, including health insurance coverage, an employee wellness program, life and disability insurance, a retirement savings plan, paid holidays and sick time and vacation.
