Purpose of Role
This role will lead Transportation Management Services for our EMEA Region for all modes of outbound transportation for UA internal & external customer inclusive of Distributors, Strategic Accounts, Regional Wholesale (East and West), Digital, Distributors (EU and MEA) and DTC
As a Manager of Transportation focusing on outbound, this role will oversee the activities to achieve strategic goals, quality, cost, and service.
Role will be responsible for delegating tasks and leading the execution of the overall department and building goals. The Manager is responsible for effectively communicating cross-functionally to maintain the most productive and efficient workflow for the transportation function. This involves driving all financial metrics while ensuring all service commitments are maintain for all business channels. The leader drives performance and accountability while enforcing Under Amour’s Core Competencies.
Your Impact Drive transportation alignment with cross-functional partners on strategic initiatives aligned with LRP and POD expansion plans. Collaborate with and provide decisive point of view with partners internally and externally. Demonstrate a consumer first mind-set to implement and drive relevant strategies to improve operational efficiencies together and service to accounts Identifies internal processes and procedures within transportation to utilize Continuous Improvement Tools and Techniques to reach the strategic objectives of the customer Implement transport strategies to meet UA goals and customer expectations Ensure that the department performance goals are set and achieved, through the proper execution Collaborates with cross-functional departments while balancing workflow. Administer observations on teammates & transport partners to drive performance improvement, training, and coaching. Communicates department vision & objectives while partnering with cross functional teammates Experienced in developing reports, analyzing data & providing high level recaps for both internal & external communication. Active participant in regularly scheduled internal touchpoints – Ops Call, Accountability, Staff, HR, Key Program tracking/etc. Recognizes the potential impact of internal & external challenges on future state of the business unit and develops action plans to meet these challenges. Build & Drive relationships with transport providers the enable UA to meet overall department and company goals. Create transport solutions for all cross functional channel or customers that meet customer requirements and expectations while balancing cost Qualifications +3 Years in a Transportation related role +3 Years in similar or related industry Detailed understanding of European transportation networks (Parcel, Pallet, etc.) Knowledge and understanding of other regions transportation networks (APAC, LATAM, USA, etc.) Service Oriented: Enthusiastic, positive, professional, and pro-active service minded attitude. Results Driven and Ambitious: Motivated and strives to achieve team and personal goals. Problem Solving: Identifies and resolves problems in a timely manner. Interpersonal Skills: Working with a range of stakeholders and be open to ideas and flexible to change. Communication Skills: Excellent oral and written communication skills; attentive listener. Have a commercial & process mindset be able to see the bigger picture and understand the business priority & needs. Be confident with process, systems and be able to translate commercial strategy into operating model and supply chain solutions. Strong knowledge and understanding of end-to-end logistics activities. Strong PowerPoint and Excel skills. Experience with SAP and knowledge of Warehouse Management Systems.
