Position Summary Leads and engages the Ultrasound Department closely aligned to Med Center Health’s strategic initiatives and organizational goals. Manages and plans the Ultrasonography function at The Medical Center at Bowling Green including staffing and development, cultivating a strong workplace, and managing the department's financial performance. Provides support to staff by working as an Ultrasonographer when needed. Minimum Qualifications Work Experience Three years of ultrasound experience required. Previous supervisory experience preferred.
Education Completion of an Ultrasonography program (OR) completion of a Radiologic Technology program and equivalent on the job training required.
Certifications/Licensure American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS): AB, OB/GYN, PS, or RVT(VT) required. BR specialty earned prior to 2011 may be accepted in lieu of AB, OB/GYN, PS, or RVT(VT).   Oversees and facilitates efficient patient and paper flow within the Diagnostic Imaging section. Provides assistance and guidance to radiology and ultrasound Students in Ultrasound theory and application. Performs diagnostic Ultrasound studies of the abdomen, pelvis, and small parts.  Performs obstetrical examinations and biophysical profiles on OB patients.  Performs both arterial and venous vascular ultrasound examinations. Fills out the appropriate forms with complete measurements for the Radiologist. Troubleshoots minor equipment problems as necessary. Cleans probes following the recommended guidelines for cleaning.
