Tax Manager - The position involves planning, managing, directing and monitoring multiple client services teams on client engagements in a wide variety of industries with assistance of group of tax professionals. It’s imperative for individual to provide innovative tax planning, budgeting, consulting, and compliance expertise to multi-disciplinary clients. The professional should be able to thrive on deadlines, apply tax experience to a wide variety of transactions and make significant contributions towards strategic objectives.

Your key responsibilities
Performing detailed review of US Corporate Federal Tax returns (1120, 1120PC and 1120L) and State & Local Income tax returns and relevant supporting forms Ensure accurate, timely filing of consolidated federal, state and local income tax returns and other business related filings Reviewing Book To tax adjustments and reclasses – Unearned premiums, discounted unpaid losses, wash- Sales, PFIC, Straddle loss, DRD adjustments etc. Find and implement opportunities for process improvement in company tax procedures Manage members of the tax team as they prepare components of the company's US federal income tax return and other tax documents Perform detailed review of Investment Income Manage and facilitate IRS income tax audits: preparing responses, creating schedules, etc. In-depth knowledge of Statutory reporting vs General Accepted Accounting Principles and Adjustments In-depth knowledge of ASC 740, including review and finalization of adjustments. Report out the findings with clients and US stakeholders Fair understanding of SSAP101 and its implication on Insurance industry Work under stringent deadline on ASC 740 during annual and quarter close Contribute to client satisfaction by providing timely and effective responses to client needs and concerns Review of International tax fillings such as Form 926, 1118, 8865, 8621, 5471 etc. Monitor legislative and regulatory tax law developments, communicate the effects of the developments to management and the tax team Knowledge about recent tax developments and changes including Schedules K-2/K-3 reporting requirement Detailed analysis of organization chart and report the findings, discuss with onshore team in a presentable manner Manage own and/or other’s impact on project economics, including controlling costs, monitoring budget to actual differences Guide, mentor Staff (new and experienced) for upskilling, technical advancement, and performance management Adheres to practice protocols and other internal processes consistently
Skills and attributes for success
Extensive corporate income tax knowledge Strong accounting, analytical, and research skills Excellent written and oral communication skills Strong knowledge of tax code, compliance and procedures for corporations Familiarity with US federal, state and local reporting requirements Strong ability to utilize project management and accounting best practices to organize and prioritize tasks and the tasks of other tax team members Accountability for client engagements and their success, handling delivery of engagements Planning and coordinating multiple deadlines, create coherent teams, and respond promptly to client/onshore team requests Working with peers within its functions and across client service teams Building and leveraging relationship with US engagement teams Proficient with One Source or other tax compliance third party vendors like CCH etc. Ability in Microsoft Office software programs, including spreadsheet programs (i.e., Excel) Managing engagement workflow, engagement team resources, engagement invoicing and budgeting Conduct performance reviews, serve as a mentor and contribute to performance feedback/training Maintain an educational program to continually develop technical and managerial skills for yourself and the team Strong organizational and interpersonal skills, ability to supporting recruitment activity
To qualify for the role, you must have
CPA/EA certification preferred 7-8 years of experience Good written and verbal communication skills along with Team handling and leadership skills
Ideally, you’ll also have
Ability to read, interpret and apply the tax legislations A strong sense of belongingness and adaptability to the changing needs of the clients
