In this key role, the Manager – Vendor Pricing & Analytics is responsible for developing and maintaining up to date vendor price schedules for key Disposal Vendors in an efficient, effective, and reliable manner. This includes providing pricing reviews and guidance to Procurement and Operations personnel for routing purposes, flagging uncompetitive vendor prices for review and for approving vendor price agreements within their assigned authority. This role will work closely with the category manager, analyst team, and director to provide comprehensive support for category projects and vendor negotiations. This includes monitoring vendor pricing performance, optimizing company supplier spending, and helping Clean Earth and Procurement achieve its financial and operational targets.
**Primary Responsibilities:**
+ Organize, analyze, and manage vendor pricing for the disposal and recycling services category, in support of the overall Procurement and Clean Earth business goals for financial and operational efficiency.
+ Manage portfolio of vendor pricing agreements, across assigned category segments including landfill, incineration, treatment/solidification, waste to energy, alternate fuels, and recycling/reuse.
+ Ensure vendor price lists are current and consistent with negotiated contracts, terms, and conditions.
+ Work with the category manager to optimize pricing across various material treatment segments, including various disposal and recycling options.
+ Work with the analyst team to ensure timely and accurate completion of various projects.
+ Develop and utilize a cost modeling approach to analyze and provide annual and quarterly forecasts of different pricing and volume scenarios. This will consider disposal, transportation, and related fees to determine total cost of ownership.
+ Strive to establish consistent pricing categories, across multiple vendors within each segment.
+ Partner closely with and actively support business and operations customers at corporate and field locations to help ensure vendor resources are being maximized.
+ Identify pricing improvement opportunities and best practices on a continuous basis to drive incremental gains for the corporation, demonstrated through validated cost savings and avoidance.
+ Support the Least Cost Routing program, providing vendor pricing insight to ensure facilities leverage optimal disposal and recycling alternatives.
+ Maintain a positive rapport with all levels of the organization to foster and promote a diverse and inclusive work environment, high levels of morale, and high employee engagement.
+ Develop forecasts and monitor performance in support of objectives and business plans; with a focus on year-on-year cost savings.
+ Work with the category manager to drive total cost of ownership reduction, through joint process improvements with suppliers.
+ Effectively collaborate with our internal Commercial Pricing team to provide input, to enable them to establish prices to Clean Earth’s end customers.
+ Maintain up to date focus on external economic trends that have an impact on Disposal Pricing to support effective price negotiation with vendors.
+ Assist the category manager in the development of RFP’s and the negotiation of new vendor contracts.
+ Performs other duties as assigned.
+ Bachelor’s degree required - in supply chain, economics, mathematics, business, finance, or related field.
+ 5+ years’ of purchasing or related experience and 3+ years of which should demonstrate ability to manage, analyze, and improve vendor pricing.
+ Proficiency with personal computer applications including MS Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, Excel (intermediate/advanced), and Power BI.
+ Strong math skills, with a proven ability to accurately analyze, convert, and compare values and pricing that are based on varying units of measure.
+ Experience working with enterprise ERP systems and procurement modules (Oracle, SAP, etc).
+ Excellent written and oral communication and presentation skills with the ability to speak and communicate effectively with both senior management and technicians / operators.
+ Strong project and data management skills. Ability to assign priorities in a fast-paced and changing environment.
+ Strong business acumen and teamwork skills, to support operations with a focus on both internal and external customer satisfaction.
+ Highly self-motivated to assess and prioritize multiple initiatives, to drive both near and long-term value.
+ Ability to collaborate and bridge across functional boundaries.
+ Ability to travel as necessary (up to 25% travel).
**Preferred Qualifications:**
+ Purchasing experience within the hazardous waste and/or recycling industry, with an emphasis on services including incineration, landfill, waste-to-energy, alternate fuels, treatment/solidification, and recycling/reuse.
+ Experience with the Oracle ERP and procurement system.
+ Experience with purchasing various services throughout the United States, in different regions.
+ Procurement experience working within a large, multi-site organization.
