Manager, Waste Tracking and Logistics
We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Manager, Waste Tracking and Logistics to join our team. This individual will be responsible for managing the tracking, inventory, and movement of waste between facilities while ensuring compliance with all relevant environmental and safety regulations. The role includes coordinating logistics for waste shipments, handling timelines for movements, and maintaining comprehensive records for all waste materials.
The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of waste management, environmental regulatory requirements (such as EPA and DOT regulations), and logistics processes. The position also requires a focus on process efficiency, project management, and a high level of attention to detail.



 

Key Accountabilities

Waste Inventory Management: Oversee the inventory of waste materials across multiple facilities, ensuring accurate tracking, labeling, and storage of materials.Regulatory Compliance: Ensure all waste movements and shipments comply with federal, state, and local environmental regulations, including EPA, DOT, and OSHA standards.Movement Coordination: Manage and coordinate the safe and timely movement of waste between various facilities. Track shipment timelines and ensure all shipments meet regulatory deadlines.Documentation & Reporting: Manage and issue all necessary documentation for outbound shipments, including Bills of Lading, manifests, and work orders, while maintaining computerized records of materials. Additionally, generate and submit timely monthly and annual reports for clients or regulatory entities, oversee AFS Dockets, and support invoice stewardship programs to ensure compliance and accurate waste processing.OMS (Operational Management System): Utilize the OMS system to track waste, ensure timely completion of work orders and run sheets, ensuring accurate filing and processing of all waste documentation.Vendor Management: Collaborate with third-party waste management vendors to ensure proper handling, treatment, and disposal of waste materials, and manage any related invoicing and reporting.Logistics & Scheduling: Plan and coordinate logistics for waste pickups and deliveries, ensuring that all shipments are processed efficiently, safely, and on time.Continuous Improvement: Review and assess current processes to identify opportunities for efficiency improvements, cost reductions, and enhanced compliance in waste management operations.

Qualifications:

Education: Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Chemistry, Engineering, or a related field. Certification in hazardous waste management is a plus.Experience: At least 5 years of experience in waste management, logistics, or environmental compliance, with a focus on tracking and movement of waste materials.

Knowledge:

Deep understanding of federal and state hazardous waste regulations (EPA, DOT, RCRA, etc.).Experience with waste transportation logistics, manifesting, and compliance reporting.Familiarity with waste management documentation, including bills of lading, manifests, purchase orders, and work orders.

Skills:

Strong project management and organizational skills.Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work cross-functionally with multiple departments.High attention to detail and accuracy in record-keeping and reporting.
