Assumes twenty-four (24) hour responsibility for the coordination of quality care in a safe, convenient, timely and efficient manner to patients/families. Collaborates with the Director, department personnel, medical staff, and various administrative staff in planning for and providing quality and consistent patient care/services.

ACCOUNTABILITIES

1. Performs all duties and responsibilities in an ethical and responsible manner in alignment with the mission, vision, and values align with those of ProMedica.

2. Facilitate unit organization and management within established policies and procedures, standards of care, budgetary parameters, productivity, fire and safety regulations, and other department-specific requirements.

3. Function as a role model by maintaining effective working relationships with all members of the hospital and medical staff through cooperation, coordination, and mutual respect.

4. Maintain compliance with Joint Commission and other regulatory agencies.

5. Coaches and facilitates the growth, development, and engagement of employees within the department including employee competencies and annual performance appraisals.

6. Manages daily operations to achieve the safety, quality, experience, and financial goals for the department.

7. Strives for continuous improvement by focusing on key department systems and goals.

8. Other duties as assigned.
