Job Overview:

The Practice Manager will oversee the day to day management of assigned practice locations, oversee office activities and staff to ensure that optimal patient care is given in accordance with Barnabas Health Medical Group policies and procedures in a courteous, timely and efficient manner. He/she will be responsible for reporting identified safety issues such as hazardous environments and medical errors.

Qualifications:

Required:

Willingness to travel to sub-specialty practices requiredMinimum of two-three years of management experience in a primary care or multi-specialty setting, requiredMust be well versed in interdisciplinary practice environments, with knowledge and experience in patient registration, billing, management of front-end staffing settingsProcess management ability to effectively coordinate the efforts of professional and support staff with proven experience in conflict resolution and team developmentDemonstrated understanding of healthcare fiscal managementExcellent written, oral, and interpersonal skillsProficiency with EHR Systems and software applicationsProficient with Microsoft Office

Preferred:

Bachelor's Degree in Liberal Arts, Business Management or other related discipline, preferred Appropriate experience may be substituted for educational requirementsBilingual in English and Spanish preferredHealthcare management experience is highly preferred

Scheduling Requirements

Essential Functions:

Oversees the daily operations of the practice including staff management, practice productivity, financial deposits, physician and patient scheduling and budget developmentThe manager ensures that policies and procedures are implemented promptly and efficiently while working collaboratively with Senior Management and Internal Stakeholders to ensure the practice meets overall performance and satisfaction expectations in order to achieve an excellent patient experience.Assists in all front desk duties, answers telephones and schedules appointmentsObtains and enters patient and insurance information; maintains chartsVerifies insurance eligibility; post and collect charges and payments and print receiptsFollows through on all customer requests and inquiries in a timely fashionMaintains positive relationships with all customers, employees, physicians, patients, visitors, and guestsAssures physicians licensure is current: license, CDS, DES, Malpractice Insurance, ACLS, and BLSMaintains practice work queues or supervises designated personsEffectively allocates and schedules resourcesAble to project and appropriately staff the practices to effectively function to demandDetermines priorities and organizes work and time to meet themUtilizes resources, both labor and non-labor to maximize efficiency and qualityFollows sound employee retention techniques; effective selection and interviewing recognition, fair and timely discipline, and ongoing performance feedbackInteracts constructively, tactfully and diplomatically with others and resolves conflicts effectivelyDemonstrates cultural competency and ability to maintain a diverse workforceAdheres to budgetary guidelines and proactively manages budget variances and causesReview daily flow sheets, make deposits, and check posting, billing and codingUpdate staff on coding changes and inputs changes in computerCoordinates patient care with affiliating health membersGathers information for special testingCoordination of physician schedules and entering PTO, CME, Seminars, Meetings on bi-weekly payroll time sheets with back-up documentation as per compliance regulationsAssures that the office complies with all requirements of OSHA that apply to practice and that all employees are trained in proper procedures and are following the regulationsKeeps physical properties of office in good state of repair, monitors the security policies of office, and reports status to Regional Operations Manager
