Job Overview:

Under the guidance of the Director/Senior Vice President of Community Health, the Manager serves as a representative of the Medical Center to the area residents, civic groups and community programs/initiatives. S/he also provides administrative support including, but not limited to, program planning & scheduling, data entry & analysis as well as research & assessment of community needs.

Qualifications:

Required:

Bachelor s degree in Public Health or Public Relations 3 5 years of special event development and implementation in healthcare, hospital or related industryExcellent verbal and written communication skills; ability to compose correspondence, prepare reports and present programs to varied audiencesExemplary organization skills; experience in meeting multiple deadlinesProficiency in Microsoft Office, including Excel and PowerPointExperience with desktop publishingEffective interpersonal and relationship management skills from support personnel to local dignitariesWell-versed in social media applications for businessProven ability to work autonomously and as part of a teamOwn transportation required for local travel

Preferred:

Bachelor s degree in Public Relations strongly preferred

Essential Functions:

Attend meetings and prepare minutes, presentations and spreadsheetsCoordinate meetings and maintain calendars of all the interfaces of all disciplinesDevelop and maintain a detailed project schedule which includes all project phases and dependenciesCoordinate meetings and maintain calendars of all the interfaces of all disciplinesParticipate in/conduct off-site meetings on behalf of DirectorTrack programs, analyze results and produce statistical reports and summary documentsLocal travel requiring the transport of supplies, displays, presentations, etc.Lifting of supplies, moving of equipment, extended periods at the computer and standingDemanding work schedule including frequent evenings and weekendsOffice environment with minimal exposure to hazardous materialsEnsure adherence to deadlinesActively seeks and identifies potential community outreach opportunities with Medical Center service lines and targeted service areasActively seeks and identifies potential community outreach opportunities with Medical Center service lines and targeted service areasAdheres to patient rights: provides for the confidential treatment of all communications and recordsDemonstrates professionalism with families, visitors, physicians, co-workers and supervisorsListens and communicates effectivelySupports teamwork by cooperative problem-solving through participation in meetings, projects, etc.Utilizes principles of continuous quality improvement in all work situations to assess, measure and improve organizational and department functionsOrganize work sets priorities with a minimum of supervision and seeks guidance as appropriateMakes decisions that are timely and consistent with department, objectives, policies and proceduresDemonstrates sound judgment; accepts and benefits from constructive criticismParticipate in ongoing education as required
