Northrop Grumman Financial Shared Services (FSS) is seeking a General Accounting Manager 2 for our Irving, TX, El Segundo, CA or Bloomington, MN locations. This position is a hybrid position.

The Manager of General Accounting provides leadership and guidance to the enterprise and sector specific accounting shared services organization.  The position supports Northrop Grumman operating segment(s).

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

Coordinates daily accounting operations in ERP (Costpoint and/or SAP) Manage direct reports who support accounting operations, ensuring completion of tasks timely, effectively, and in accordance with quality requirements Oversee team member’s performance and engage in career coaching/development conversationsCoordinates portions of the monthly/quarterly/year-end close process according to requirements Review and approve monthly and quarterly account reconciliations in Blackline and works to resolve reconciling items timely Review and approve monthly reconciliations of sub-systems to general ledger, i.e., Sales & Profit to GL/HFMComplete the monthly load and tie-out of ERP financial data to the financial reporting HFM toolJournal entry review, approval, and postingMaintain the general ledger chart of account Oversee lease accounting operationsSupport other functions as needed (such as tax, financial reporting, etc.) Analyzes monthly trial balancesDevelop and maintain excellent working relationship with business units and sector financial reporting teamsChampion for process automation/improvements - lead implementation effortsRepresents and supports organization on special projects, including system upgrade/implementations

Basic Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related discipline5 years of relevant experience in Finance or Accounting1 year of leadership or supervisory experienceKnowledgeable of software applications as they relate to the General Ledger and supporting systemsExposure to financial reporting tools:; Hyperion Financial Management preferred or similar systemKnowledge of GAAP/FAR, cost pools/allocations and inter-company accounting

Preferred Qualifications: 

Costpoint and SAP ERP experienceCPAStrong digital transformation and data analytic skillsExperience working in a shared services organization

Salary Range: $119,800.00 - $179,600.00

The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
