If you are an Engineering professional looking for an opportunity to grow, Copeland has an exciting opening for you! Based in our Sidney, Ohio location, you will work inside the enterprise Advanced Manufacturing Engineering (AME) department leading a team of project engineers. As the Assembly Manager, you will be responsible for driving new product designs for manufacturability, oversee manufacturing process designs & capability, and procure capital equipment supporting our innovative scroll assembly NPD programs. You will research and monitor manufacturing industry trends and implement best-in-class solutions for our global manufacturing facilities.
As the AME Assembly Manager, You Will:
Coach, Grow, and Develop engineering and technical resourcesWork collaboratively with Product Engineering, other AME teams, and Operations to ensure new product(s) and processes are crafted/optimized for manufacturabilityDrive strategic discussions and define manufacturing plans to optimize cost, footprint, and process efficiency. Direct a team of multi-functional engineers in the design, procurement, qualification and implementation of capital equipment and manufacturing processes while maintaining project schedules and budgetsApply practical automation, LEAN principles, and material handling solutions for high-volume manufacturing assembly linesProvide mentorship in PFMEAs, capability studies, and other statistical analyses to verify and qualify production processes and equipmentDrive collaboration with global & local manufacturing locations to gain an understanding of standard processes and how to implement them.Required Education Experience and Skills:
Bachelor of Science Degree in Mechanical, Manufacturing, or Industrial Engineering/Engineering Technology or equivalent. Other degrees will be considered with relevant work experience. Exceptional communication, social skills, and the ability to develop collaborative relationships to facilitate knowledge sharing.Proven capability in leading multi-functional engineering teams.Minimum of Eight (8) years’ experience in high volume discrete manufacturingProject management (schedule, budgeting, planning, execution) and capital equipment procurement experienceStrong analytical and problem-solving skills and proven ability to apply creative thinking to tackle sophisticated problems.New product development, PFMEA, and design for manufacturability experienceExperience with 2D and 3D design (Siemens NX and AutoCAD preferred but not required).Experience and working knowledge of PC applications including Microsoft Office ProductsPreferred Education, Experience & Skills:
Master’s Degree – Engineering management or business/project management focusedTwelve (12+) years of related experience in high volume manufacturingFive plus (5+) years leading engineering teamsFive-to-Ten (5-10) years in project management and capital equipment procurementLeadership experience in a matrix organizationTheoretical and practical understanding of SPC and experience making data driven decisionsCertified Lean trainingWhy Work in the Greater Miami Valley Area

About Our Location
Our newly renovated Sidney campus has 1M square feet of manufacturing floor with an additional 120k square feet of leading-edge lab facilities. This location is the headquarters for our HVACR Americas business unit. Through our many years of compressor expertise, our products help bring comfort and convenience to refrigeration, commercial, industrial, and residential spaces. Approximately 1600 employees work in Sidney, who all support a multitude of business functions.
